Wait a while for the ice maker to cycle 2 or 3 times. It ain't instantaneous.

    • Thanks. I was going to let it cycle and come back to in a couple hours and see what happens.

    • It will take 24 hours to really get some ice in there on startup.

At the back bottom of the fridge there will be a coil solenoid. If your appliance is ice make ready this will be there, these coils have a bracket that has fitting for a water connection. Get a 1/4 tube with a ferrell and nut. slide them on the tube and connect to the fitting.

    • Sorry for the terminology. In the back of the fridge, if it has an ice maker kit already installed, there should be a bracket with a plastic thing with a round cylinder that has a couple of wires connected to it. This bracket has a small fitting that is threaded. The wall behind your fridge should have a water valve. You need to connect a pipe or tube from the valve in the wall to the bracket fitting on your fridge. There should be no special things needed except for a wrench to tighten the nuts on the tube. I don't know what kind of thing you have attached to the end of your water line, but if its suspect, remove it, if you can, and take it to Home Depot, Ace or wherever, and ask then to give you a flexible line with the right size fittings on each end. Most of them carry these hoses for ice maker kits. Some teflon tape on the threads cant hurt, but most times are not necessary. connect the water line to both the wall and fridge, tighten with wrench.I hope this helps.
