Question about HP DeskJet 670c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Very feint print

Suddenly my 670C has started printing very feintly when using the black cartridge. I never use color cartridge.

I have changed two black cartridges, but with no success in improving the quality of the print.

What could be wrong? Would the printer head be worn out?

Do you have a the CD ROM for installing the printer ? You can clean the printer using the instructions suggested. It will ask you to print a test page after cleaning and alignment. The CD ROM gives you all the information.

Color printing is poor-very green

Make sure all the contacts that the drums make are clean. Use a cotton bud to wipe the laser windows behind the cartridges. If still the same then change the cartridges one at a time. It sounds as though magenta is the problem one. If this does not cure then the lasers will need to come out and be cleaned internally. Not a job for the feint hearted. even us engineers shake when we have to remove them.

It will not print boldly ,it is very faint, yet I thought the ink cartridge was pretty new.It has been in storage for about 16 months though

The cartridges for these printers have a limited lifespan, the ink can dry up after a while which is the result of your feint printing. You can remove the cartridge and try cleaning the tip using a cotton bud (or q-tipp) with just a little warm water. Ensure it is dry before placing back in the printer. If you still have feint printing then alas you need a new cartridge.

Hi

Just take off the toner cartridge and shake it well to distribute evenly and then return it back to the printer and then print again.

We have just changed the black printer cartridge and are having trouble printing. It was very feint but now it is almost printing a light purple - the black is no where to be seen. Regards Fran

Ok are you sure that you have it set to Black & White, or Greyscale? Also ensure that you do a head clean, too. Give the cartridge a good shake up to mix up the ink. If it is purple, make sure that, that isn't the color of the "Font" that is printing... unlikely but just a thought.

Have fitted new black cartridge - is full - but printing very feint - have run clean on print head but no difference - z600 series

check menu setup and ensue that you have reset the print tone aspects run a test page to ensure all colors reconginzed, if just black the tone line should be solid. if not then there is something clogging release.
