Solution!! you go to "voice" hit the hihat pedal, then press "page" till you get to hhat ofset and bring the value to negative. approx -25. pressure that you applied to hhat pedal becomes less

Make sure the sound module is correctly set for the SPECIAL kit and not the STANDARD kit. Press SHIFT and DRUM KIT and select a SP setting not a STD seting, ie SP Dyna.

If you have the SPECIAL version of this drum kit, it has a different hi-hat controller(the RHH) than what is default in the module. Reset the pad for the hi-hat to read RHH and this will cure any and all problems. It will function and sound just like a real hi-hat.

What is it doing? No Sound? Intermittently clashing by itself? A totally different sound [deviation from normal program], etc....

When Iput oressure on the pedal to close the high hat it works ok sometimes but other times it makes the sound that is open. Also if I go into ceck the volume it shows it is open and not closed at times even though I have the pedal depressed.

In some pictures for the Yamaha DTXpress IV Special, the hit-hat has this trigger system under it and other pictures don't.What is it?

I see pictures that show an extra device beneath the Hi-Hat and the ads mention a "stereo hi-hat controller"... on the RHH130 there is a clutch to improve the feel of the Hi Hat... I think this is what you see in some ads.

Cut and paste:

This hi-hat pad design attaches to a standard hi-hat stand. Inside of the pad is a sensor system and built-in hi-hat clutch that feels, realistic when pressed. The RHH130 also features a dual zone design consisting of pad and edge sections that offer greater dynamic realism. The pad can also produce a foot splash.

I have a problems with my HI-HAT control. When I put a pedal for HI HAT controler down, you can play HI HAT, but in the next 20 second the pedal not choke HI HAT cimbal...What can i do? Thanks

Verify that the pedal is the CORRECT type for what you are using it for.

Pedals came in MANY varieties. I would ask the store where you got the items about it.

Pedals can be switch type either normally open or closed, Variable resistance/volume control, pulse type like the kick drum pedals that generate a varying trigger pulse...

try a wooden snare, a light kick drum, the most natural hi hat you can find, some soft cymbals and a selection of wooden and metal percussion instruments.

Problems with DTXpress III special bass drum pad

If you are comfortable with working on it and the warrantee is up try taking the pad apart to see if the piezo element has come loose from its mounting or if the solder joint is loose. If that isn't the problem save your settings and initialize the set according to the instructions in your manual.

I want to connect my YAMAHA DTXPRESS IV SPECIAL to my PC

Any pro-audio interface with a midi input would do the trick. There are numerous products out there that offer this. You can get a simple usb midi interface, and connect the Yamaha up with a midi cable running from the midi out of the drum module to the nidi in of the interface.

one of the simpler ones:...

My Bass Drum trigger just stopped working .

this is an easy problem to fix. The piezo piece on the inside of your bass drum trigger uses a double sided tape that is fixed to a metal disc. the piezo trigger just fell off. mine did the same thing. I actually glued mine with epoxy and have not looked back.
