    Gracias estimado Ginko!

Agradecido. Saludos estimado Ginko!

I had the same problem of code 10. I am using an HP pavilion dv6000 with a ricoh webcam. I found that I download a microsoft updates on the 8th of febuary which included some sonix drivers which were optional and no good to me but stoped my webcam working.
By going into 'control panal' and selecting 'system' then 'devise manager' you get a list of your system. If you then select the 'universal serial bus controlers' at the bottom you will see the sonix driver. By rolling back this installed driver I found my webcam started working again.
This solved my problem and I cant believe there aren't a lot of people out there with the same problem. Good old microsoft!

Ironically, I received the same error and, I discovered it had nothing to do with using the webcam - go to this site for a REAL answer :

http://www.lytebyte.com/2008/06/15/how-to-use-inbuilt-webcam-in-hp-pavilion-entertainment-pc-to-record-videos-and-snapshot/

I ended up hitting my "quick play" button located next to the on/off button (left side) and double-clicked on the HP Webcam - the blue light came on and I could see myself smiling...

Good Luck! It works...

Esta es la descricion que Microsoft hace de code 10: "Code 10 is a default error code that Device Manager generates when the operating system cannot determine which specific error code to return after an issue occurs. For example, Device Manager may generate a Code 10 error when hardware devices are accessed by a user or by software that is installed on the computer."

Hello i also go through this phase. I have wasted my lot of time on it. Around 10 time live chat with HP Compaq Company agents, phonecalls 4-5 times. Going through all the search engines, downloading all Drivers from compaq hp website reqarding webcam of my laptop compaq presario v3702au. Also downloading Acer Driver, Crystal. Going to website of sonix. but no solution.
Downloading patches from microsoft windows, Installing sp1 for vista uninstalling again and agian.

No video capture device found. again and again. also again downloading cyberlink webcam software but no solution.

But the problem is in Lcd Screen. no other problem not of windows vista

My laptop was under warranty, and they replaced it within 10 days. It may take upto 1 months as there was no lcd availble for my product, but i got it between 10 days.

So donot waste your time if ur laptop is under warranty.

thanks

Webcam is not working

Check if the webcam driver is installed. Open Device Manager, if you have Windows XP right click on "My Computer" then click properties on the System Properties window go to hardware then click on the Device Manager button. If you have Vista or Seven, you can type "Device Manager" in the search box in Start Menu. Check if the webcam driver is installed, your webcam should be listed under "Imaging Devices". If you don't see your Webcam here that could mean the the driver is not installed. You can download drivers at www.hp.com/support enter your computer's product number.

Webcam isint working

Click Start > All programs > Windows Update.

When the update completes:
Click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > Imaging Devices > uninstall Webcam driver > restart computer >wait for the computer to reinstall the driver.

If Imaging Devices is not in Device Manager, the web cam is not plugged in and in need of repair.
If there is a yellow question mark or triangle on Imaging Devices, you need to download the driver from the manufacturer website.

Reinstall the webcam driver again. Due to some reason the driver files may have been damaged. If you don't have the driver, then goto HP site and download from there. Thanks

My hp mediasmart webcam wont work

If the webcam is not working then at first we need to check whether its an issue with the webcam driver or the Medismart Software.

1>Click on Start and in start search type devmgmt.msc and then hit enter.
2>It would open the device manager window,Now locate an option which reads as Imaging devices.
3>There would be a + sign next to it, click on it and then right click on the driver which comes below the same..
4>If you don't find Imaging devices in the device manager page then,
5>Click on Start, in start search type appwiz.cpl and then hit enter.
6>This would bring up the Programs and features window.
7>Now locate the HP mediasmart webcam software, right click on it and then click on uninstall.
8>You can reinstall the same back from the link mentioned below.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48236.exe

Restart the computer after uninstallation and reinstallation of the software.

Hope it Works.

Ken

I see the word hp webcam at the top of my laptop...hp pavillion dv 6000 but wen i go to quickplay i don't see the device...wen i look at the device list it is not listed

On the My Computer properties window, click on the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Click on the plus ( +) sign next to Imaging Devices and locate the webcam item in the device list.
If the webcam is not listed, do the following activities to install the driver using the webcam driver recovery.
Click Start, click All Programs, click PC Help & Tools, and then click HP Application Recovery.
Select Driver installation and click Next.
Select the HP Webcam 1000 driver from the list, and click Install.
If the webcam is listed under Imaging Devices but there is a red X on the icon, the webcam is disabled. See figure below.

I have HP Pavilion dv6000 webcam does not work.

Check to make sure the device is installed. Go to your device manager by doing the following:

start | run
devmgmt.msc

Under Imaging Devices, check to make sure you have the entry:

HP pavilion webcam

This is the first test to make sure the device is actually present in your DV6000

How do i turn off the web cam for the dv6000

You can disable it under Device Manager. Here's how to get there:

-Open the Start Menu
-Look for Computer or My Computer, and right-click on it. A menu will come up.
-In the menu, choose Manage
-Computer Management comes up. On the left pane, look for Device Manager. Click on it.
-The right pane will now show the devices on your system. Look for a section called Imaging Devices. Click the plus next to it to expand it.
-Find the webcam (Probably called HP Pavilion Webcam) and right-click on it.
-In the menu that comes up, choose disable.
-You should see an "X" appear over the device. This indicates that its disabled.

If you ever want to use it, go back to the same spot, and choose enable.
