You just need a proper screw driver to open the dvd and remove the stuck cd from the device.

1Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
Step2Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It’s the part that holds the DVD loader in place. Step3Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases. Step4Slide the disc tray out. If your disc got stuck before it was read, it's probably still on this tray. If so, your problem is solved. However, if the disc was fully set and loaded, the job isn’t quite finished yet. Step5Move the small mechanical arm that holds the disc in place over so that the disc and the reader are both exposed. Some DVD players will not have anything holding the disc in place. Instead, these devices use a system not unlike that of a common DVD case. The DVD will be locked in place in the center. Step6Carefully lift the disc up and out of its loaded position in the DVD player. This may entail sliding the disc reading mechanism over slightly. This won't hurt the device as long as you’re careful. You should be able to access and remove the disc. feel free for further queries. thanks.

First unplug power cord for two minutes.

Then restart the machine, and keep pressing eject button repeatedly, while the unit is restarting. Do this several times until it ejects before starting to read.
If it does not eject restart the DVD and try again.
If that does not work, then you will need to open the DVD, as already suggested.

Give it a try , 9 on ten it works after a while.

Try this unplug it from the circuit. open the top cover of your dvd. then plug it again after that try to push several times the button open/eject. so that you can see whats happening inside and what cause the stuck cd. if still doesnt work then try to move gently the cd to come off but very careful about this or try something like lifting some parts of the disc tray inside to be able to come off or open by itself im always doing this procedure when a disc stuck on the player. do it at your own risk and be careful. hope that helps!

I Have a Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD Recorder Certain shows or movies i try to record , I get a pop-up saying " Cannot record in +VR mode " . What is +vr mode and how do I change it?

VR mode or Video Recording mode is a feature on stand-alone consumer and computer DVD recorders that allows video recording and editing on a DVD rewritable disc.
In VR mode, users can create and rename titles for the scenes. Also, if a scene is deleted, the space allocated by it will be utilized later without the need of reformatting a disc.
If the user would like to record on the same disc again at a later time, in VR mode, users may eject the disc and it will not be finalized by the recorder until it is manually initiated. For the sake of comparison, any DVD disc recorded in VR's competitor V mode (or Video mode) will be automatically finalized before it is ejected by the recorder. Disc finalization is still required if the disc formatted for VR mode will be played in another DVD player.
Currently, users can only record in VR mode with the use of DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and DVD+RW discs, (updated in 2000 to accommodate DVD-R (General)) [DVD players marked “RW compatible” and “DVD Multi” can play DVD-VR recorded discs] and on some recorders, also on hard-disk drives.

DVD RW stucked - stall the whole system.

Hi, I found this site today cos I had a similar problem. To cut a long story short I found a slot on the bottom of the machine, below the disc tray, that has a white lever in it. After removing the power source I moved the lever to the side and the tray opened manually so I could remove the disc. It seems It was a duff DVDR as other discs now work fine. Good luck !
