Question about PC Desktops

Open Question

I have a 4x4 evo 2 game and it is not installing. It starts to set up the installshield wizard, gets to 99% and then quits. we are running it on a computer with windows vista software. any thoughts?

try this...make sure all pc protections are disabled, firewall, and any antiviruses and spyware of all kinds...usually solves these cases for me....hope it helps.....shia

Reinstall the InstallScript engine loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); To reinstall the InstallScript engine from InstallShield Developer, follow these steps:

  1. Download the ISScript7.zip file. To do this, visit the following InstallShield Web site: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322 (http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322)
  2. Extract the ISScript7.zip file.
  3. Double-click the ISScript.msi file.
Running Setup from a virtual drive loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); If you are running the Setup program from a virtual drive created by using the SUBST command, you can delete the virtual drive and instead run the Setup program from the physical hard disk. To delete the virtual drive, click Start, click Run, type subst drive_letter: /d, and then click OK.

Tried to put the driver in but when I complete it and it starts to install The Installshield wizard, it comes back with 'no supporting product'


probably you do no have the right driver or ...the driver is not for teh operation system you run ...if you upgraded or downgraded let me know at least the device that you ar etrying to install and the operating system you use to see what I ll can do about ...

in device manger select update driver then push spesific location then click don't search i'll chosse the driver then click have disk then browse to the folder of the .inf file and driver files click the .inf file then it does the rest

The exceptions are some older games and other programs that were written specifically for an earlier version of Windows. To run your program on Windows XP, try the following:
  1. Run the Program Compatibility Wizard. As an alternative, you can set the compatibility properties manually.
  2. Update your program, drivers, or hardware.

The Program Compatibility Wizard This wizard prompts you to test your program in different modes (environments) and with various settings. For example, if the program was originally designed to run on Windows 95, set the compatibility mode to Windows 95 and try running your program again. If successful, the program will start in that mode each time. The wizard also allows you to try different settings, such as switching the display to 256 colors and the screen resolution to 640 x 480 pixels.

Trying to install Quarkxpress 7.0 error message says Unable to install Installshield scripting Error 1607


CAUSE loadTOCNode(1, 'cause'); This issue may occur if one of the following conditions is true: • The user account that you use to install the program does not have administrative rights. • You have programs running in the background that are interfering with the setup. • .NET Framework is not installed on the computer. • The Windows Installer program that helps you set up the game is not installed correctly. Heres what I would do, Firstly download and Install the lates .NET distributable from here

Then download and install the Latest windows installer package from here

If after you install both of these and REBOOT you still get the error then let me know and we can go more indepth

Hi denka;
I did encounter this problem before and in order to un-install it, you must first re-install it, but unfortunately,since you no longer have the cd, you might want to just leave it there, because deleting the folder will not remove everything but if in case you really wanted to you can try these steps here:

Look for the rct3 gold folder on your C:\ProgramFiles\
delete the folder, delete the shortcuts in your desktop and in your "all programs" then install a free registry cleaner CCleaner,

http://www.ccleaner.com/download and run it, it will remove all useless registry and applications,,,,,

not sure if it would 100% remove everything though but worth a try.hope it helps.

Try to install D-LINK DWL G630, get error 1607, windows xp


Error 1607 appears while trying to install the product. The installer is unable to invoke "InstallShield", a third-party utility used to perform the installation.
Step 1
  1. Select Start, Run, and type REGEDT32. Click OK.
  2. Browse to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\InstallShield
  3. Check the permissions on this key:
    Windows XP: right click and select "Permissions"
    Windows 2000/NT: navigate to the "Security" menu and then select "Permissions"
  4. If not already assigned, assign "Full Control" to the following groups:
    a. Administrators
    b. SYSTEM
  5. Reboot the computer
  6. Try the installation again
