Question about Canon imageCLASS MF6530 Monochrome Laser Copier/Printer

1 Answer

Sanning document MF6530 is connected to Windows 2000, service pack 4 PC with a USB cable of 20 feet. Installed Canon MF Toolbox 4.9. When actuating the start button the computer locks up. One document was previously scanned successfully, but am unable to duplicate a successive scan. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Marv Sachse

Same story here. It appears to be the long USB cable I'm using, not sure, though. It scans the first page, then stops halfway through the second. Recovery requires a Windows restart.

Canon mf4350d WONT scan out of the box

The software that comes with Canon MF4350 does not detect the absence of WIA service running. If printer is working and the correct driver is installed, the first thing to check is: 1. Check that the scanner does NOT appear under Control Panel -> Scanners and Cameras. 2. Navigate to Administrative tools -> Services (the same menu is available under My Computer -> Manage -> Services. 3. Check that service "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" is enabled and started. 4. If WIA service is not enabled, enable it. The scanner should appear under scanners menu (see 1.) and Canon MF4350 should work fine.

Smartbase MP360 Scanner Not Identified by MS Vista

One thing to check and be sure of is that your printer cable (USB) is definately a USB 2.0 cable. Canon have an issue with their printers with scanners in that the data flow sometimes isn't sufficient when an older USB cable is used. The slightest drop of data on startup or during scanning will cause a stop.

Worth trying and has sometimes solved the problem for my customers.
