Greetings Greinberg,
My name is Mark and I will be glad to assist you. It sounds like they have un-installed the video driver, this can be rectified by going to Hp.com/support and go to your model number. From there I suggest you download all the drivers for your model. It is possible they have not installed all the drivers associated with that model this is a safeguard. When you download the drivers save them to your documents file then open them all when you finish the downloads. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Be mucho blessed,
Mark

Sounds like your resolution is either set too low or your laptop does not support higher resolutions. Check in your display setting to see if the resolution can be lowered to 1024 or lower. Try that and get back to me.

Sounds like the laptop is trying to display a resolution that is not supported. Try to reboot into safe mode or the BIOS. Try safe mode and if you can get into safe mode make the default screen resolution something like 1024 x 768, then reboot and see if everything comes back.

Photos not clear on webpages

Hi,

It can be the problem of your computer screen resolution. Few things to cross check with your system

1) Check the screen resolution supported ( approx. 32 bit 1024x768)

2) Supportable graphics driver.(recommended get the latest driver and install it again)

3) check the IE Text Size under view menu it should be MEDIUM

External monitor looks like the computer is in the safe mode

If XP:
Start->Control Panel->Display->Settings tab->Screen resolution->move marker to "more".

If Vista:
Start->Personalize->Display Settings->Resolution->move marker to "high".

Do you have any kind of download accelerators installed? These will compress online multimedia content, degrading the quality and clarity of the picture.

Resolution problem . . . .

Resolution is normally set from the "Personalize" option of control panel. Under display settings it should say something like "Generic PnP monitor on NVIDIA MCP67M" above where the resolution slider is.

If this has changed to "Generic PnP monitor on (unknown) then your problem lies with the display driver. Visit Nvidia's site for the latest all in one driver for Vista that is suitable for your laptop.
