go to the control panel and check the network connection
check the network if it is connected enable and disable it

Cannot connect to the internet with pc, can connect with my laptop wireless. using windows vista but niether internet explorer or mozilla firefox can connect.

First check your network adapter settings )make sure that it is set to 'obtain ip address automatically'). In network and sharing center, make sure that you are not using a public network. Also, in control panel, internet options on the connections tab, make sure that use a proxy server is not checked in LAN Settings.

Fix internet connection windows 7

If your having a problem with Internet explorer dorpping your connection,here is a fix.
First left click start,then left click Control Panel.
Now under the headding (Network and Internet) look for View network status and tasks,left click (View network status and tasks) a new window will open called (View your basic network information and set up connections)
Left click (Local Area Connection) a new window will open,look to the bottom left you will see (Properties) left click that.
A window will open called (Networking) in the center of the window you will see (This connection uses the following items) in that window look for (Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
Remove the check mark from he box on the left and click ok,now click close,in the (Local Area Connection Status) window click Close.Now just click the X in the window Network and Sharing Center.Thats it your Internet connection should run much better and not drop your connection.

Disable internet card

goto --> network center, where you will find the LAN (i.e local area connection) then select the LAN and right click on the icon and select disable. your internet will be disabled.

if it is not showing a connection check to make sure that your modem is working properly, try resetting the modem plus it your internet service provider gave you a disc please run it so that it can download the proper drivers for your modem so that it can connect to the internet.

Lenovo desktop cannot connect to the internet with linksys ae2500

What kind of message are you getting? Are you connecting with a network cable coming out of the linksys and plugging into the back of the Lenovo Desktop? if so look on the back of the computer where the cable is connected and see if you see a light. It should be lit if the network cable and the computer's network card are both good.

Look at the bottom right hand portion of your screen near the time. See the computer there. Right click on it and select Network and Sharing Center. Or click Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center. When it opens up you will see a diagram of your computer going into your router and the router going out to the internet. If there is no connection you will see a red X over where the connection is being interrupted. Click on Connect To A Network. Find your network and connect to it.

You’ll need to left click on the Network Connection icon in the bottom right and then click on the Network and sharing Center and click on the status and you will be able to see the status of your network connection. If there is any red (x) mark against your computer, network connection and internet, then you’ll need to click on this sign to diagnose the error and resolve the issue.

My dell laptop will not connect to linksys 54g ,why

Let me try to solve this. Please try to see if the wireless antenna switch (physical switch) is turned on. For Vista, please click on Start-Connect to- then please select your network. If it says you are connected to the network, please click on "Open Network and Sharing Center to see if there is a red x mark between "network" and "internet". If there is none, please launch your browser (Internet Explorer) If there is, please click on that red x and see what is the message after. If it could not be identified, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If there is no problem with your ISP, please go to Start-Control Panel-Network and Internet-Internet Options-General Tab-Delete (Under Browsing History)-Delete All. Wont sign on to internet

Is the computer recognizing the connection to the network?  Does the home network use DHCP?  How do you have the network setup?  Does this connection work with a different computer?  Try pinging any other computer on the network, and try pinging a website.
