Trash? we have this memorex mmp8640 and you can charge it all day, only thing plugged in, it will turn on. you can listen for 5 min or 3 hrs but as soon as you turn it off it wont turn back on until you charge it again... their tech support sucks! they said to try downloading the firmware but I cant find it anywhere. Target wont take it back and they want to charge me 70 bucks to send it in. I dont want to pay that for a nother if it didnt last a yr the first time. Is there any help or should I face the facts. The reason you couldn't find the firmware is because there is no firmware update for that model, so they definitely led you astray there. Also, their website is broken, quite surprising for such a big company, so you can't even access the manual - and all the manual suggests is to reset the player and update the firmware.
This is a generic fix that isn't guaranteed specifically for your player, but it is worth a shot: Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded.

My memorex mmp8640 keeps freezing up how do get it to unfreez

HI, it is caused by virus by an application installed or when too much programs are running at ones.

How to solve this problem, you will have to flash the memory of the phone cause it is malfunctioning that is while it is freezes.

After flashing the memory comes back to normal again and you can start using it again.

Take care.

Hi sluzenski5, I'm not a member, but I do have a solution. Please take the following steps: 1. Get a small piece of lead 2. Make sure mp3 is off hold(lock) 3. Insert lead into reset hole, press so you feel the click. 4. Hold power on switch for 3 secs, maybe 5 5. Enjoy your music! If this works or doesn't, email me at: d-ruffles@hotmail.com Good Luck

I dont relly know how to charge it plzzz help

It charges when you plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your computer when you plug it in to put the music on it with the supplied cord. Leave it plugged in for awhile it will charge it right up automatically. If you have an old computer that only has USB 1.0 it won't work, and you'll need to charge it on a different computer. Oh by the way the computer has to be on for the USB ports to have power.

There should have been a mini-CD that came with the item, that contains the software you need to convert the video.

I HAVE A MEMOREX (MMP8640A) AND IT WON'T COME ON.

reinstall the firmware, following the next steps:

Download the firmware from Memorex site (www.memorex.com) but use the firmware for MMP8620 NOT the one for MMP8640, otherwise you will finish with your player starting with a blank screen.

2. Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.
3. Click on the start button on the lower left hand corner on you PC.
4. Highlight Programs, on the drop down page highlight Memorex Aptitude Digital Audio Player.
5. On the drop down window click on “Memorex Aptitude Firmware Download”.
6. Memorex Aptitude Firmware Download Window will open with a notice “PLEASE CONNECT
DEVICE”.
7. Press and hold down the MENU button on the MP3 player at the same time connect the other end of the
USB cable to the USB port on the player.
8. Firmware Download Window will begin initializing.
9. Keep holding down the MENU button on the player until the Firmware Download Window displays
“READY”.

Battery charge

Put 2 batteries in flashlight and ran completely dead. Charged them in 1hr. 50min. Pulled plug per directions for first time charge and plugged back in. Light went out in about 10 - 15 min. Plugged in third time with same results. Is this normal. Haven't tried them in camera yet.
