Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WDA-2320 (1010075372) Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Installed upside-down My roommate has one of these on her old Dell. It consistently gets LOW bars/reception compared to our laptops when we put them in the same place. I tried re-installing the drivers but it didn't help. (That might have been a dumb thing to do; I'm not sure). I was just looking here on the back of her machine though and it looks like the actual device (sans the antenna) was installed upside down! So, here's the question, could that have anything to do with it? If not, since my router is all the way across the house would it help if I put it up higher on a shelf? Please help!!! thanks!

I have the exact same problem, everything you said, exactly the same. i bought mine a week ago and its so frustrating since i thought it would get a real good signal. anyways the only thing is that I think its impossible to install it upside-down, and even if it was possible it wouldnt work at all. im 99% sure. but if you solve this issue let me know, or if anyone has any suggestions. im running it on vista 64bit, but i tried it on xp 32bit, and same problem. :(

Same issue here. I installed it correctly into the desktop, but it barely works. Signal strength is very poor, yet with my laptop at the same location I get excellent signal strength and can browse no problems. Run a speedtest and the desktop that this card is installed in gets about 1/2 the speed as my laptop does.

Overall, I think this is just a poor card.

Low wireless signal strength compared to other computers - the netbook consistently reports about half the wireless signal strength that a Dell laptop sitting next to it does. in low signal strength areas...

For HP Mini 1000, the wireless device can be problematic.

I will recommend the HP Mini 210-1084. This has the fastest wireless in the HP Mini range of Netbooks.

Good luck.

The last 3 or 4 cakes i've baked have sunken in the center and a little underdone.

clean the door glass so you can see easy and get a good meat thermomiter put it on a small cookie sheet or pie pan upside down. set 350 and preheat 15 min then watch temp go up and down write down the high and low is it consistantly the same.the temp half way between high and low is the average is it lower than 350. if it's all over the place the control is most likley bad. consistantly off or high and low more than 60 deg apart sensor is bad.if it's gas oven and it takes a long time for the burner to light after the glow bar comes on replace ignitor, average will be low and spread will be wide

You need to check the signal strength in the other room and compare it with where you were getting a good signal.
Check the other Access Points/routers in your area, are they broadcasting on the same channel, if they are then change your access point/router to a different channel.
To improve radio reception you may need to move the access point/router to another location away from solid walls etc.
Your wireless card may be as good as your roomates, if possible borrow one of theirs and set it up (configure it) for your laptop and see it it works better.
Try the other options before you buy another wireless card.
