Question about GE A730 Digital Camera
This camera is telling you that there is a problem with the lens, either in the tracking, mechanical, or electrical circuit.
Try this: If the lens extends at all... then pull on the lens or push in to try to reset the tracking of the lens.
If the lens does not extend at all and makes noise, then it has problems in the lens gearing or motor.
If the lens makes no noise at all and you get the error with the shut down, then more than likely there is nothing that can be done.
Try this at your own risk:
With the camera off, gently hit the camera on a padded (folded towel) cloth on a solid surface, using one of the corners. This may jar the internal parts enough to make the camera work again.
BY doing this, you do risk damaging the camera beyond repair, however, if you have a camera not working anyway, it may be worth it.
I have fixed two cameras in the past this way. However, nothing is guaranteed.
