SOURCE: Whirlpool Beverage Center (WBC127BLS) - Won't cool enough

i got it fixed. you have to know a little about wiring to make this happen, but not impossible. took cold control off old refrigerator, and wired it into compressor behind refrigerator. the cold control is no more than a thermostat that acts as an on/off switch, so the hot wire needs to be removed off the compressor and the hot lead on the cold control needs to be wired to constant voltage and the other wire on the cold control plugged into compressor where original hot wire was disconnected. you will have to drill a little hole through refrigerator somewhere to run thermostat wire off cold control into refrigerator. you now control the internal temp by the external cold control switch. if you hook it up this way you will only be bypassing the original cold control on the whirlpool, but will still have your digital readout of internal temp. mine now reads 32 deg. and if the beer is in the back of refrigerator it will have ice in it, just the way i like it.

It should get cooler than that at least down to 33-34 degrees. Be sure you have air flow behind the unit, not pushed against wall. Feel for cold air coming from freezer to lower part just behind light bulb. If it is not turning off and defrosting they will do this as ice builds up and results in no air movement. you may want to remove the cover in the back of freezer and see if it is froze up. Or just turn it off and defrost and start back over the next day. The defroster timer may also be bad and it is under cover beside the light bulb.

Are you tray to "reset" the unit; disconnected power few minutes (five before to reconnected again).

If the problem come on again, try to set the temp manually accordign the User Guide.

SOURCE: Can i get my danby model no DAR604BLS to be colder

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

My danby wine cooler does not get cold enough

Cool enough? You know most wine and beer only like it about 50 degrees and not any cooler. If it up at 55 and you have set it lower then the room is probably warmer then it can handle to cool them. I have some in the garage but in July and August the struggle to stay any cooler then 55 but then they are not expensive units either. Danby is cheap brand too. Nothing they make is that great.

you have a door seal leak, the ice is from outside air getting into the cooler, you might also check for an air leak it the service door in the bottom back of the cooler.

Not cold enough

Just some general info on Danby Kegerators. The temp fluctuation is 32-42 degress thru out the day and for 1 hour a day you will get a temp of 46-48 degress during defrost. Unfortunatly there is no way to bring these coolers colder than 32 degrees. These Keg coolers need to be in a temp controled enviroment and if it is enclosed in a cabinet you need to have 3" opening on all sides for air to circulate. Some of the main fault codes are EE = open sensor and LE = which is a communication error between the display board and the main board. The LE error may be in the touch pad which gets moisture in the membrane and causes the pad to quit responded sometimes the error can be solved by simply disconnecting the molex plugs from the boards, straighting out the pins and reinstalling

Frigidaire refrigerator with a broken freezer

He is correct. The temp in the refrig controls how often and for how long the refrig runs. Lets say the temp in your garage is 34 degrees, and you have your refrig set to 36 degrees: The refrig will never run, the fresh foods section will cool to 34, and the freezer will warm to 34. Even if the temp is 45 in the garage and you set the fresh foods to be 33, the refrig will not need to run long enough and often enough to keep the freezer temp cold enough. You will most likely need to have the ambient room temp at least 55 degrees to get satisfactory refrigerator performance. Insulating the refrig will not help. (by the way, outdoor beverage vending machines use an internal heater in cold weather to prevent liquid beverages inside from freezing,..... so using that info, you could put a low wattage heater in your refrig to make your refrig run enough to make the freezer section work. The %&#* with that, just move it into the house!)

Temperature - Is fan supposed to constantly run or is it controlled by thermostat

You said ,Top half of Danby DKC645BLS refrigerator 10 degrees warmer than bottom half. Bottom half cooling to approx. 34 degrees.

Is it running all the time without cycling off and on as it should be doing?
Sorry to have to tell you this news.
But this would mean a bad thermostat or insufficient freon in the cooling system.

The same issue with the fact that one compartment is warm and the other is cool!

Let me know that service tells you!

Thank You

Whirlpool Beverage Center (WBC127BLS) - Won't cool enough

If you're handy with a soldering iron, it's possible to 'trick' the fridge into cooling down a few more degrees.

Long version:
If you open the door to the fridge, on the right wall near the bottom is a small plastic grate. You should be able to pull this straight out from the side wall. There is a temperature sensor attached to the back of the grate. Unplug the sensor. (The fridge will then give you a very annoying error beep and display "EE" on the readout. Pushing the °F-°C button stopped the beeping.) This sensor will change resistance with temperature. (The lower the temperature, the higher the resistance) I was reading a resistance of about 3700 ohms at 43°F and 2460 ohms at 68°F. Throw in a rough assumption that the response is linear and it works out to almost 50ohms/degree. In order to 'trick' the fridge into cooling down more, you need to drop the resistance. I was aiming for about 6 degrees cooler. Assuming the resistance response was linear, 6 degrees cooler would give me about 4000 ohms from the sensor. By jumpering a 50000 ohm resistor (yes, 50K ohm) in parallel with the sensor, I should get about 6 degrees cooler. I did the soldering, plugged the sensor back in, and ended up about 8 degrees cooler. Two days so far, everything appears good and the beer is cold.

Short version:
Put a 50K ohm resistor in parallel with the temperature sensor behind the grate on the inside right hand wall.

The temperature read out will be inaccurate forever after though. But then, I just want cold beer, my wife wants cold water, and the kids want to play with the cool blue light. I don't care what the number on the readout is.
