Question about PC Desktops

I'm trying to run my fisher price easy link and it said: Internet Explorer was unable to link web page you requested. The Page might be unavailable. I tried it this morning, and Now again 5 hours later. Is there a reason the page would be down and how can I find out why and when it will be up again.

Try to ping it.

Start | Run ... | type "cmd", click "ok".
Type "ping www.fisher-price.com" and if it says destination unreachable, then somewhere between your computer and fisher prices's server, there's a problem.

Instead, you read a message announcing that the page cannot be displayed. Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode type in ipconfig press enter you will see all of your internet connection details or type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138 to get an inertnet connection Contact your Internet service provider. A cable, DSL or phone line outage is a common cause for connectivity issues. Delete Internet Explorer's history. Close any open applications and open a new Internet Explorer window. Click "Tools" and then click "Delete Browsing History." Click each "Delete" button, except passwords if you allow IE to retain them for you. Hope this helps.

I am trying to connect to the web with my new sylvania ce netbook and it has the right password in it I click the internet icon says connecting the shows up unable to connect. Can you help me or should I...


Using the Personal computer to arrive into network requires turning on the device that would have a password to display the system windows. The password would possibly been disabled in some instances, where for example clicking on the internet explorer icon should simply display a page welocoming the network required. For example, if the internet explorer icon is clicked showing display page momentarily, then www.Google.com is typed in the search space of the page displayed, a connected network should show another page displaying the features of the page or site google show mometarily after search space has been click. An unconnected network would always display a message or network unavailable or internet not setup and requiring establsiment. The most situation would be a message communicating the cause of network malfunction. if the computer has a network subscription plan, for example a provider that has promised to network the computer in question for fees, where would have provided the computer user an installation kit either software to install on the computer to be linked to a network. The computer with networking defaults would turn on completely only after which just cannot network into another setup when a page is clicked onto it. Simply, ask your network provider for further assistance.

Internet Explorer for Windows

1. Browse normally to the web page you want as your home page.

2. Pull down the "Tools" menu of Internet Explorer.

3. Select "Internet Options."

4. The "General" tab appears.

5. You'll see the "Home page" box at the top.

6. Click the "Use Current" button in that box.

7. Click "OK." \

8. Close and open Internet Explorer. You should see your new home page.
Firefox for any operating system Changing your home page in Firefox is easy. Just follow these steps:

1. Browse normally to the web page clip_image001.gif

2. Pull down the "Tools" menu of Firefox.

3. Select "Options."

4. Click on the "General" tab, if it is not the first to appear.

5. You'll see the "Home Page" box at the top.

6. Click the "Use Current Page" button in that box.

Safari for MacOS X

Changing your home page in Safari isn't tough either:

6. Click "Set to Current Page."

8. Close and open Safari. You should see your new home page.

Opera

Opera changes the home page in pretty much the same way as the rest:

1. Browse normally to the web page you want as your home page.

2. Pull down the "Tools" menu.

3. Select "Preferences..."

4. The "Preferences" dialog box appears. Click on the "General" tab.

5. Note the "Home page" field and the "Use Current" button to the right of it.

6. Click "Use Current."

7. Click "OK."

You need to disable any add ins.
For internet explorer :
go to tools and then click on internet options.
Click on the advanced tab and then click on reset web settings.
This should disable the ad blocker.

Running script error


Method 1: Disable script debugging loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); If the only sign of a problem is the error message, and Web sites are working, you can probably ignore the error. Also, if the problem only happens on one or two Web pages, it might be a problem with those pages. If you decide to ignore the errors, you can disable script debugging.

Note If this problem occurs on more than one or two sites, do not disable script debugging. Go to method 2 now.

To turn off the Scripting Debugger in Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. and then click OK .
To turn off notification about every script error in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.
Method 2: Test a Web page from another user account, another browser, and another computer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Use another user account, another browser, or another computer to view the Web pages that triggered a script error to determine whether the problem persists. If the script error persists, there may be a problem with the way the Web page is written. You can probably ignore the error and disable script debugging as described in method 1.

If the script error does not occur when you view the Web page from another user account, browser, or computer, the problem may be caused by files or by settings on your computer. Go to method 3 to continue to troubleshoot. Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not being blocked by Internet Explorer loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If these are blocked on your computer, it may disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. Click Default Level.
  5. Click OK.
Note ActiveX controls and Java programs are turned off at the High security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a scripting error. If you do not receive the error, the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, go to Method 4. Method 4: Remove all the temporary Internet-related files loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); Every time that you open a browser to view a Web page, your computer stores a local copy of that Web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open Web pages. Periodically clearing the folder might help resolve the issue.

To remove all the temporary Internet-related files from your computer when you use Internet Explorer 6, follow these steps:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
  5. Click Delete Files, and then click OK.
  6. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.
  7. Under History, click Clear History, and then click Yes.
  8. Click OK.

Try these steps: Update Adobe Flash Player Internet Explorer and Java script . Clear Explorer cache, cookies, and browsing history. Some find that a return to classic mail improves things. You could also try an alternative browser. Hope this helps!!
Some additional troubleshooting information and steps include:
  • The current problem is with Yahoo. Do not reinstall software on your computer
  • Sign out of Yahoo. Clear your cookies. Sign back into Yahoo.
  • Try logging in from Y! Login
  • Try logging in from Yahoo! Answers - Home
  • Force a browser refresh on the Yahoo mail page. While holding down the control key hit F5.
  • If you can not reply, try starting a new email to your contact.
  • Refresh the Yahoo Mail page before you try to compose a new email.
  • If you use Yahoo or another Yahoo compatible IM messenger, use the check mail link from that software to login to your email.

Error message


The most common cause of this issue is not restarting the computer following the installation of Internet Explorer 7. It seems that if you do not restart Windows immediately after the installation has completed, it causes some side-effects, particularly the error you describe. This may not have been your fault, as the Internet Explorer 7 update may have been automatically downloaded and installed from the Windows Update website. After the update was installed, and you were prompted to restart, you might have elected not to restart (as you did not realise the implications of such) and thus now the program does not work correctly. In this case, the workaround for the issue is to uninstall Internet Explorer 7, through the “Add/Remove Programs” control panel, and then reinstall Internet Explorer 7. Make sure you restart the computer once the installation has completed!

Apart from reinstalling Internet Explorer 7 I was unable to find any other workarounds for the problem. Some users have reported having to reinstall Windows, but this is only in extreme cases. In the worst case, you may have to just uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and go back to using Internet Explorer 6. However, I imagine you might like the new Internet Explorer 7 features such as tabbed browsing. Should this be the case, and you are unable to resolve the problem with Internet Explorer 7, perhaps another alternative is to try Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox). This is a very popular free open-source web browser, with many of the same features (tabbed browsing, RSS integration, etc.). This could be a useful compromise if you are still unable to get Internet Explorer 7 to work correctly.
