press and hold down the home and sleep button until the apple logo appears on the screen..
this will reset the phone and any small firmware glitches that could be causing this problem.
if that doesn't then you will probably have to try upgrading the software on your phone..i believe in the 2.2.1 versions this is a very common fault and by upgrading it fixes this glitch..
also another very common cause is that the screen protector on the phone is installed incorrectly cause the screen to detect a multiple of touches making it freeze up and non-responsive..to fix this you will have to take it to a phone repairer and they will re-align it...
try resetting it .at the botom close to the dell logo there is a pin hole.Depress to reset. If the problem persist attach it to your computer back up your music.download the latest firmware and install it
You should be able to have your iPod repaired under the factory warranty through your local Apple store, but please keep in mind that coverage for accidental and cosmetic damages may not be included. Typically problems such as cracked LCD screens, liquid spills and internal corrosion/oxidation may be viewed as accidental damage, but a final determination should always be made by a factory-authorized repair technician.
