Question about Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000E Front Load Washer
Hi - My front-loading Frigidaire Affinity is beeping continually and won't spin the water out of the basket. It is only about two years old. I had just run a heavy load of blankets when this started happening. I tried unplugging it, and getting it to start again in a different cycle - such as "spin only", but it shuts itself off immediately. I can't get it to start again for more than a couple seconds, and then it just flashes and beeps. I see others have asked about similar issues with this washer, but I havne't found any solutions. Hoping someone knows out there...
Picked up a free Affinity 6000 & found unit would not spin. Found the door safety switch contact spacing that was supposed to close when the wax motor heated up was too wide and the travel of the wax motor plunger was inadequate. Adjusted the stationary contact closer to the contact that is moved by the wax motor to ensure this N.O. door safety switch contact now makes when the wax motor heats up. Cost for repair $0.00 !!!
The "wax motor" is a small white rectangular plastic device with 2 1/4" male wire terminals. It has printing on it with its 120vac current rating. Inside the door lock/safety switch this wax motor heats up when 120vac is applied by the washer controller during spin cycles. As this wax motor heats up it acts much like a automotive engine coolant thermostat and the expanding heated wax pushes out a plunger which engages the door lock mechanism & pushes together the previously mentioned switch contacts that signals the washer controller that it is safe to spin the washer drum at high speeds.

I had the same problem. Filter in the drain boot was full of coins($1.37), lint and a ring my daughter lost a year ago. The boot was a pain to get to. Once I got to it, getting the hose clamps off was much easier than putting them back on. I replaced one of the hose clamps with a ring clamp from the hardware store. Poor design. Coins and such shouldn't be able to transfer past the wash drum but they do and it causes a problem which you nearly need a professional just to clean a filter.

The filter inside the drain line was full.I chose to not put mine back in and just check our pockets alittle more carefully.

Stay away from using Purex 3 in 1 detergent/fabric softener/anti-static cloths. Two worked their way into my drain line, causing the poor drainage and slow spin problem.

Another reason this happens is the door lock sensor. This happened to me- I cleaned out the trash basket, the drain boot- everything. The door was locked- but for some reason the computer wasn't recognizing that that door was locked so it would not go into the final spin cycle. Called a repairman who replaced the door lock and the machine is good as new. I can even do really heavy loads again. thank goodness!

I read your post about fixing your Frigidaire front loader. You stated you relocated the "wax motor" for the door lock. Could you please explain how and where to do this? My washer is giving an E10 code and will not do the final spin so that my clothes are completely soaked. Thanks in advance!

After you clean out the filter, check to see that nothing is stuck in the pump impeller as well. You may have to take the motor apart

Hello zabbster - Typically the DR or DO error code indicates that the door switch is not closed. Make sure that the door lock is completely closed. If the door is closed, make sure the door latch is not broken. If the latch is broken, you may possibly need to replace the door lock switch.

If the unit is washing properly, as far as you can tell, but it won't stop spinning, then I would have a professional look at the control panel and timer to be diagnosed because there seems to be in miscommunication.
