Try a different wall socket after you disconnect the monitor from the system that you are using it on. You should ideally see the Green light come on + a monitor self-test run on the screen. Please let me know if this works for you!

I have this GREEN LINE vertically on my DELL LCD MONITOR E176FP 17

c5e83efa-55e9-4b06-8023-89ff1e5850bd.pngDoes it look anything like this? I'm no computer guy at all, but I had that issue with my Dell laptop and the line disappeared completely. How? After watching that bright green line getting Ionger and longer every day I stopped using my laptop for one whole week due to the holidays. After that first week I turned it on to check some random file and to my surprise, the line was a lot smaller and disperse. I had this 2 week long trip the following week so I decided leaving my laptop at home to see if the line kept getting smaller. When I got home from my trip I turned on my laptop hoping the line were actually reduced, and it was completely gone, completely and absolutely gone. I would recommend you to stop using your lptop for 3 weeks or so. Good luck

The system will not come on, the fan, heater, AC. It was working and we were away for a week and when we returned it would not come on.

Check your brakers/fuses. There might be a fused swich on the side of the furnace as well. Make sure that the furnace is getting power.

My s618f will charge from the usb on my computer, but when I am away from home it won't charge from a mains usb charger. This is bad news on a 2 week holiday.

I use my USB cable that came with my Sony and a Wall charger/USB power adapter for and ipod made by apple.

Just come back from a 2 week holiday and my dell dimension 5100 was off but i usually have it on 24/7. having returned from holiday , when i press the power button nothing happens but the yellow l.e.d...

This model has had a very high failure rate. The amber led on front is on to show an error. This can be 1 of 3 things. 1. The power supply has went bad. 2. The motherboard is bad. or 3. The front control panel is bad. Since Dell used proprietary parts on this model you would need to contact them for replacement. www.dell.com will have the contact info. Hope this helps.

Dell model No. 1504FP will turn on for 3 sec then off

THE PROBLEM IS THE MONITOR IT SELF.

IT IS TIME TO BUY A NEW MONITOR. I KNOW ALOT OF OF US CANNOT AFFORD A NEW MONITOR EVERY TIME ONE BRAKES, I HAVE FOUND THAT SECOND HAND STORES SALE THERE MINITORS FROM 1-2 DOLLARS PER INCH, I PICKED UP IBM FLAT SCREEN 20" AROUND 20.00 USD. AND IT STILL RUNNING AND I HAVE HAD IT FOR A YEAR OR MORE NOW.

Removed monitor for cleaning

Unsoldered the master power switch and the reverse scan button (micro switchs) from the mother board and traded each others place, (the reverse scan switch into with the master power switchposition and vice versa.) Allowed the two confused wires to hang naturally and took a chance and plugged them in where they seemed to remember being plugged in. re-assembled and working good.

Hi...there,
It's seems you got a busted backlight inverter. If you still under warranty send it back to Dell for repaired. Happy Holidays!

Dell 1800FP - no power

Hi pcpiuk

If you have a multimeter, and want to get into the electronics of it all, you could rip the covers off and sus it out. Here is a pictorial guide on whats in it. You need to check the power supply for operation. If it appears to be producing voltage(they usually do or they dont) then it will be ok. The common cause of failure in the power supply is the regulator IC ICE2AS01 an 8-pin DIP chip, and resolder the entire PC. Around power devices I use solder with 2% silver content as it creates much tougher solder joint. If the power supply checks ok, then the inverter is the next spot to check. Just replace it if it appears to be the problem. You can get spares to rebuild the power supply and even new boards from ebay or Dell direct.

Dell LCD monitor suddenly loses power

Hello,

Five years is a long time for an LCD panel. You definetly got your money's worth.

But, if your trouble shooing has led you to this conclusion I can also only conclude that the power driver inside your panel just gave up the ghost.

However, try giving Dell a call, for what's thats worth and see what they have to say.

You might also want to ask this expert "Robotek" what he may think as he is a board troubleshooter and could give you an answer if one is there.

Type this or copy and paste into your browser's address bar:

And then click on the Ask Me button under his picture.
