The only answer they had for me was to buy a new printer. Like this is something that happens quite frequently. It has happened to me before and when I reported it they sent me a new printer and a postage paid return carton. This time no dice - and no answer.because my warrenty is up. So In frustration I just bought a new printer. I think maybe it is a design flaw because they seemed to know immediately what the problem was and said there isn't a way to fix it.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

Installing/Replacing your ink cartridges:

2. Remove the used print cartridge or cartridges. 3. If you are installing new print cartridges, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the color cartridge, insert the cartridge in the right carrier, and then close the color cartridge carrier lid. 4. If a black cartridge is included in the box contents, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the black cartridge, insert the cartridge in the left carrier, and then close the black cartridge carrier lid. 5. Replaced new ink keeps saying right cartrige is incorrect wont let me print. the cartrige is correct i paid $50.00 for a two pack of black and color ink!!!

Wiping the nozzles with a moistened soft cloth or removing and reinserting the cartridges usually helps. The cartridges for the Lexmark X7170 are black: 32/34 and color: 33/35. If these are the cartridges that you purchased and even tried your old and new cartridges yet the problem persists, please don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support.

I am having to install a new black cartridge in a Lexmark x4650 printer. I dont know how to get to the ink cartridges installed.I would like for some one to help me with this. I cannot figure out how to...

sagar1111.jpgHere you will see both catriges if your printer is powered on and you open the cover, the cartriges would come to center position automatically, here you will see a half rounded circle at top,
give it a little push towords down and it will be in you hand and while fixing place the cartrige inside and push it slightly.

Refill cartrige and printer says replace cartrige

A lot of printer manufactures place a small chip on the ink cartridge. Combined with the printer software it knows you re-filled the cartridge. This forces you to buy new ink. A work around that works with some printers. Keep you're old ink cartridges. Replace with new and when it empties replace with you're re-filled ink cartridge. Store you're old re-filled cartridges in a dry cool place when not in use. With HP printers users keep three cartridges.

Good luck.
