Yes, start with unpluging the set. lol remove the lower rear cover first by removing all of the screws around the oustside edges, left-right-top-and next to the input panel. then remove all the screws around the edge of the top of rear cover. Be carefull because the top rear cover contains the mirror!! There is no way to make the bottom of the set any smaller other than removing the speaker grill in front. (usually this is just a snap-on cover.

I have a Westinghouse 26 inch TV. Model # SK-26H590D. It will not scan channel 9. I have tried both the automatic scan and the find channel scan. It is hooked to a Phillips Mant 510 vhf/uhf indoor antenna...

I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.

Sounds like a solder issue either in the horizontal / Vertical deflection circuits due to the fall. I would check out the solder joints especially around the heat sinks. Hope this helps. If you provide the Chassis number for the RCA I can be better equipped to give you component locations to inspect.

Disassemble Rear Projection TV

well the short answer is : Check the sides of the set see if there is a crack in the middle where you could separate them
Long answer: i would not recommend it even if it does, the screens are sensitive and could get dust inside the screen.
Never taken one apart that far. i suspect most tech don't because of the problems aligning and dust ect.. trying to get it back together.
