Question about Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hoover Upright...OLD vacuum, broken belt

I can't figure out how to get the wooden rod off that the belt goes around..
help! I have the old belt off and the "cover" removed. This vacuum is ancient (over 15 years old at least) but runs good with a belt that is not broken!

The rod must be your brush roll. it should just pull out, Have you removed the cover over the brush roll? When you do get the brush roll out, turnb the ends and make sure they turn freely, if nit, replace it also.

There is a rubber belt that goes around one side of the brush to make it spin,It sounds that the belt is off or broken. Replace the belt.

Depends on how old it is ... if it is real old try putting a open end wrench on metal belt pully, and then hit wrench with a hammer i think counter clockwise to loosen

Hoover Windtunnel Bagless bolt fell off

With this self propell series, the entire bottom needs to come apart to re-install the nut. if it is one month old I would highly recommend taking it in for warranty service. What plastic is melted?

My fan belt on my hoover is broken, where is it located and how do i fit a new fan belt

Get a new belt, then remove the bottom plate. The belt goes around the brush roll and the motor shaft. If you don't see the motor shaft, then you will need to remove the top cover to get to it. The belt will stretch to go from the motor shaft to where the brush roll sits in. If this model has 2 belts, then the drive belt(flat) goes from the motor shaft to the bigger pulley close to the brush roll.

no need to remove motor shaft which is integral with motor. slip belt on motor shaft first, then on roller then pull roller back to correct position. needs a little force
