Before I go and install drivers I don't need (or uninstall something important), I figured I'd ask--I have the HP PSC 1610 and have had no issues with it.. except that the scanner won't work. It says I need to install the software for it, but heck if I know what I did with the original CD. I know HP has tons of software available for download on their website, but I don't know which one will resolve the scanner problem and not mess up everything else. Help?

Here is the link for downloading your printer driver software choose the appropriate Operating system that you have http://tinyurl.com/d7rnyt then download the driver or full software which ever you want and install it..
Perform a clean and "No bloated" installation of the hardware. Uninstall ALL the HP printer software, disconnect the PSC and reboot the computer. When windows finish to load, connect the PSC again, the new hardware wizard will show up, follow the instructions with the HP Installation disk in the drive. IMPORTANT: When a silver sand glass show up in the screen, CANCEL the installation of the HP software (this is by clicking "CANCEL" button or by no accepting the license terms). This will install only the PSC Drivers and nothing else. Use a TWAIN compatible program (Windows imaging, photoshop, paint shop pro) and try scanning again.
