NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Fridge warm, freezer has frost on back panel & is defrosting, fans work, just changed defrost thermostat, no air is moving from freezer side to fridge side, drain pan under fridge is dry

this fan needs to run when the compressor runs, check fan blade for being jammed by ice if you have this much ice on back wall as ice will stall motor,if no fan there will be no cool air to refrige compartment also the defrost drain tray will fill with water then freeze over which in turn floods the freezer floor and refrige compartments cause it cannot drain to the pan in the bottom

What would cause the freeze to be cooling normally and the refrigerator side to be at a temperature of 55 degrees?

all it does is the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows cold air from the freezer into the fridge section so if the freezer is fine, check the air ducts in the fridge section,if a package or something is blocking the vent on the bottom it will get warm or also on your model you have a damper on the top where the air blow into the fridge section from the freezer, you have an electronic damper, there's a door that opens and closes to let the air in,when it's cold enough the door closes when it gets warm the door opens so either the damper is bad or the computer board that operates it is bad, also check the packages in the freezer,if you see frozen water droplets on the packages or ice on the shelves the door could have been left open and the air ducts freeze so no air can pass through, you can hit the air ducts with a hair dryer to melt them out but be careful, don't keep the heat on one spot for to long, you can damage the ducts, also when you open the freezer door you should hear the fan blowing,if not you could have a bad evap fan motor and the air isn't blowing over to the fridge section, the damper is like 45 dollars and the computer board is around 120 dollars, you can go onto the sears site, put your model number in and look at the controls and you can look up the parts.http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-MCD2257HEB/3048/0165000/M0703130/00006?blt=06&prst=&shdMod= copy and paste.open the freezer door, listen for the fan no fan bad motor,if the fan is blowing either the air ducts are frozen or you have a problem with the damper or board that operates the damper, you might want to call in a tech for this if it is the damper,it's a little tricky to do this job but that's up to you.good luck and i hope this helps you out.

I'm getting water in the ice dispenser. The

First, check to see if the evaporator fan is blowing in the freezer. A common cause for this problem is an air baffle that is stuck open, or closed due to frost buildup or a component failure. The air baffle is at the top of the wall between the freezer and the refrigerator. If you check for cold air coming through this vent, you will probably find that it is constantly open. A temperature sensor (thermistor) in the refrigerator normally detects temperature and a control board sends voltage to a motor to open and close this baffle properly to control refrigerator temperature. You could have a failed thermistor, failed baffle motor or a failed control board that is causing your problem as well.

The dividing strip between the freezer & fridge is hot.

Pull the refrig out and remove the rear cardboard panel . Check to see if something is caught in the fan blade stopping it from turning . Also , make sure the black square coils are clean . If the fan is not turning , and no obstruction , replace the fan motor . Use a small house fan to cool the compressor until the motor is replaced or the compressor could stop working .

The top of the freezer compartment does not freeze ice, but the bottom does. The top of the refrigerator compartment is not cold, but the bottom drawers are freezing.

It sounds like the fan in the freezer is not working , letting the cold air sink , and going into the refrig section from the bottom . Replaceing just the main control board may get the fan going again , however , replaceing both ( possible shorted fan motor will cause the new board to malfunction again ) would be the better suggestion .

Gsl25jfpa bs fridge is warm on top and frozen on bottom and freezer is warm

It sounds like the fan in the freezer is not working , to circulate air , and the coldness is just dropping . This will cause the icemaker to stop working first , then the top portion of the refrig next . As this coldness drops , the lower portion of the fridge ( crispers ) , will freeze . The main control board , causes the fan , not to run . Part Number WR55X10656 . The main control board , is located , behind the refrig , behind an 8 " X 10 " , small panel . There is usually a burnt resistor on the board , which is connected to the fan . Unfortunantly , the whole board will need to be replaced . It is easily replaceable . Doesn't take any special knowledge . All the plugs 6 or 7 , each fit the pin plug designed for it .
