I also have an LRM-519 which displays a dimly lit HELLO and will do nothing else. I have attempted as many fixes I have read on this site as possible. I'm no electronics person so I don't know how to replace all those "thingies". Has anyone considered banding together to bring a class action suit against LG? Obviously, with as many people having the same problems, bad publicity is something they don't want from many current customers. Just curious.

- I too have the same unit with the exact same problem. A dimly lit "hello"and nothing else. I have tried all the resets offered to me but all have failed.

The video on this page by jbmcsorley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToWeEhj8Lew does indeed work. I robbed the two matching capacitors out of an old computer power supply in which the transformer had failed. The capacitors were still good. It took me less than 45 minutes including robbing the capacitors from the old power supply. It really is easy. Don't worry!

Unplug the unit, hold down the play and stop buttons on the recorder,
not the remote, keep holding them, plug the unit in while holding them and then push the power
button...
