Vertical lines when scanning

When I scan multiple pages through, I get a vertical line on the left side of each page. If I lay a page flat on the glass this doesn't happen. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Clean the glass. Not the full glass where you lay a page, but the thin strip of glass that the paper moves past when you use the ADF. There is probably a small dot of ink or dirt causing the lines.

Why are pages scanning with lines running through them, but printing perfectly fine?

Try cleaning the rollers. Usually you have to remove the cartridge to get to the rollers that moves the paper.

Savin 9935DPE is printing one thick vertical balck line down the copy or print pages. About 2 of every 3 pages printed. What's wrong?

are you printing from Doc feeder or glas?? if from feeder then try to make a copy from the glass, does it still do it? yes problem is with drum.
No? problem is with the small scanning glass to the left, look carefully see if any spots or lines on the 1inch glas --- clean it

Vertical lines in copies and scanning

You need to clean small exposure glass located on the left of the main exposure glass. If this doesn't help,it can be a dust under the glass or on the mirrors that causing lines.

Vertical line appears in scans using the ADF, but not with copies

happened to me after i fed a page with not-too-hard whiteout on it. the feeder makes the page run through a different piece of glass and i just had to clean it.

Vertical line appears on the faxed page sent to

This sounds like a dirty scanning glass in the adf feeder. clean the glass with a soft cloth. if this doesn't solve the problem, there might be dirty optics under the scanning glass.

HP Laserjet3030 steaks/lines in flatbed photo scans.

Are printed pages clean?
If so, clean the narrow strip of glass on the left side of the main scan glass.
If printed pages are dirty as well, then probably a defective toner cartridge -replace

Scanner leaves three vertical lines on scanned page

Hello,

A dirty glass base can cause ‘spots’ or blemishes to appear on your final printout. Additionally, if you had some sort of opaque liquid that may have transferred on to the glass base from a previous operation. But the majority of the unwanted vertical lines are generally caused by either a dirty or damaged print roller or faulty LEDs in the Scanner Module.

To separate one from the other you have to check the following:

Do you only see the lines with a Scan operation?
Do your print jobs print fine without any unwanted lines?

If you only see the unwanted lines during a Scan operation, then most likely you have a fault/dirty/obstructed LED module.

If you see the unwanted lines with all print operations (Scan, Print and Copy), then you most likely have a worn out, damaged or dirty Print Roller.

Hope this helps…

Vertical lines in scanned documents

Scan glass has muck on it, needs to be perfectly clear, it is just in where you feed originals.

Print Problem - vertical lines

If the problem only occurs when using the document feeder, the problem is not usually caused by the drum. When using the document feeder, try to notice where the scanner (the light assembly under your scan glass)stops just before the paper is being fed. Some multifunction machines have a small piece of glass that is separate from the large scan glass and the scanner assembly stays parked underneith it as the original is being fed over it. Most likely there is something on the glass where the scanner parks as originals are being fed thru the feeder. When putting your original on the large scan glass to copy, the mark on the glass will only show as a spot, but will show as a vertical line thru the whole copy when using the feeder.
