This problem could be more than just a battery. You may have damaged sensors or case broken. To repair this unit call Frank @ 775-338-6634

SOURCE: Problem with the VeriFone VX570 Credit Card

You can get the Installation Guide HERE.

You need To Install/Replace MSAMs where all previous information is stored:

1 Remove the power cord and/or battery (see Smart Battery) from the terminal.
2 Place the terminal upside down on a soft, clean surface to protect the lens
from scratches
3 Remove the MSAM compartment door screw and rotate the door up and back
to access the MSAM cardholders (see Figure 11).
4 Remove any previously installed MSAM card by sliding the card from the
MSAM cardholder.
5 Install an MSAM card by aligning the card and carefully sliding it within the
guides on the cover until it is fully inserted (see Figure 12).

I need to unlock a NorthAmerican Bancard Verifone vx570. Z66831 only gets me past the first password inquiry and not the second

If that doesn't work, try "BEERTIME" or "23378463. if that still doesn't work, all we can do is flush the old program by opening the machine and disconnecting the internal battery, BUT TAMPER ERROR will come up after doing that and the verifone program needs to be reloaded to get the tamper out. Call (775)358-2922 look for randy and maybe we can help you
