Driving Test failure Wednesday but to be fair to myself i have not driven for a year & they just expected far too much of me in my mind. They told me i was rushing to right i was rushing it i diidnt want to be there any longer than i had to & no they were quite right when they said i didnt see as to why i had to be there. According to the assessor i did everything right my positioning in the road was good when making a turn they tryed to get me to reverse round a corner the pavement & the road had a chicane in it. Now how the hell could i reverse in a straight line around that. without my front or back end sticking out they wanted me to stay to the left close to the pavement What pavement? They gave me a impossible task. The place i had to take this test was in Southampton a drivability centre They failed me on speeding & told me i should of have some more lessons that is if i wanted to continue driving, Blinkin cheek. This had all come about because the DVLA revoked my license no thanks to the police. They failed me on speeding the woman in the back of the vehicle the OTsaid she feared for her life absolute nonsense i got them both & myself back to the test centre safely. I have been driving for 16yrs prior to my license being revoked. I was not an accident waiting to happen like they said i am a good driver. I would be happy to hear any comments u may have oh & PS it was an automatic i waqs driving another thing the pedals on the new cars today are wired they no longer have the weights behind them on the gas pedals like my own which is a much older car She is also a Automatic. christine e, chesworth

You are full of praise for yourself aren't you
lost your licence for such trivial things as speeding, couldn't back up a car , pedals not to your liking
The assessor is right
until you repeat driving lessons and learn that you are a hazard on the road so you have to show more care to others , they did right not to issue you with a licence
And all this is from your own statement of complaint

SMOG TEST OBD-11 NOT READY

Generally speaking, the truck has to be driven at least 100 miles in various driving conditions including highway and city driving and at full operating temp. The mechanics are correct in saying there is nothing they can do to trick the system into thinking this has happened.
If 100 miles did not do it you may have to drive 2 or 3 hundred miles then try the test.
The purpose of the computer being "ready" is having used and tested all of the emission components for problems. Once the vehicle is driven far enough for the computer to use all of the components, and no trouble codes are set, the test is passed.
Even if you normally only drive in the city you still have to log 50 or 60 miles on the highway to satisfy the requirement for the engine computer.

Trac off and abs light on occassionally and has for thousands of miles been making a loud rubbing noise also. am worried what can it be

The brakes are worn out. You need to have them serviced. IT sounds like it has caused other issues. Find a shop like brakes plus

My 2009 dodge challenger seems to skip when accelarating sometimes from a stopped position sometimes when speeding up.

Well-- I don't know what you want ,or your preventative
maintenance schedule, if you have one

You need professional tools to test
today's technology

Have to road test & component test, any vehicle to
address a customer or vehicle driveability issue

If you only do all your own work, say so & provide
what you know so far & have done

The vehicle appears to be 5 or 6 years years old,so things
wear out or fail at that point, ignition coils/modules,etc

Now if your not changing spark plugs & other items every 3 years,
all you doing is driving until it acts up

Cadillac CTS shutdown while driving

I would say most likely the ignition coils are bad

The dealer made their money when they sold it to you

They can fix it, but don't have very high standards for the
techs or no supervision,something !

Almost half the people that come to this site can't get a vehicle
even diagnosed at a dealer

The technology is passing everyone by

You have ignition coils on each cylinder

They only last about 6 to 7 years & will go
into failsafe if they misfire bad enough, that
is called a Class A misfire,you won't pick those
up in the shop with test equipment, maybe on a scope,
but I doubt many mechanics use one or know how

Have to just walk a new coil, road test or replace the coils,
when you have those issues

The main problem is vehicles are only driven
Never tested during the year & no one knows
that you have to do anything other than change
the oil & wait for them to break down & that is what
is happening

I would change all the ignition coils 6 or 8, replace the
front oxygen sensors & clean the maf sensor & replace
the spark plugs every 3 years, those I would have done
the week I bought it

I hope you changed ALL the fluids, power steering, trans,
brake & rear axle.

Need to road test with a professional scan tool to look at all data
& look at cylinder misfire count, fuel trim & see that the 8 monitors
run clear, you need them okey, in order to go to inspection & pass

2005 Chrysler 300 OEM Number to Cross: P0420 check engine light is on need to pass emissions test what is wrong?

If you google OBD2 PO420 you will see that you
have a failed exhaust converter on bank #1 side of
the motor

Seeing as how they last 12 to 14 years & yours only
8 years, you have had class A cylinder misfires, most likely
for years & that ruined the converter

Also a leaking fuel injector or anything causing a rich fuel
condition will ruin it

I suspect you seldom go to a repair shop until you have to,
& I also fault those shops as to not checking a thing, & it is now
costing you unnecessary repairs & your lucky you haven't done
more engine damage over the years

I also expect you have no idea that spark plugs get changed
every 3 years
Oxygen Sensors at 100,000 miles

Unrelated-brake fluid every 2 years,trans & power steering
every 3 years & much more preventative maintenance

Simply-- the auto profession let you down, you assumed
they actually have your cars best interests in mind.

They don't

Lack of knowledge is responsible for a preventable
situation you now have

How to test crank sensor

Hello there
!t is fairly easy but it is better with 2 people and here is why
you need to have a meter set on the lowest ohms scale
1 person hold the meter and touch both leads to the posts of the sensor
then while reading the meter you need to wave your hand about 1 inch from the sensor this is why 2 people are needed ok ? and you should get a fairly high reading if it is good.
If you get no reading swap the 2 meter leads and try again
if still no high reading the sensor is bad and must be replaced but if it is good it should be 4 to like 15 or so ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards mike

It is 6 and 1/2 years old, should I replace it, only 22,000 miles

I woiuld keep it if it has been a trouble free vehicle so far for you. I had driven a 96 DeVille for 8 years untill it had 155,000 miles on it. Then the trouble started with numerours things going wrong. You can offer it for sale as of now in great operating condition although for its age it will not bring in a good dollar as you may know. Mileage does not matter as much as the year to most people

GE WASHER WJSR4160GWW Won't Agitate

Sounds like tub belt failure. Check online for model layout. If unit is belt driven, remove back panel to access internal works. Look for broken belt. Depending on setup, control system stuck on water pump. Else possible control panel failure or motor (if water pump separate).
