Question about Projection Televisions

RCA 52w20 Hi: Do you happen to know what the output voltage is supposed to be for the power supply board to the deflection board. It is supplying 24vac but that seems low to me? I do not know what it is supposed to be. Thanks Mike

Awesomw. I already tried replacing the the three capacitors, cp's150, 114 and 120 because someone on here told me that those tend to be a problem but it did not work. I am still having the same problem where the green light comes on for 10 seconds then it goes out.

    What would you try next?

    Thanks

O.K. I will check the fuses. What should the voltage be on the HOT transistor and what is it called on the board or what does it look like so I know that I am checking the right thing?

    Thanks

    Hi:

I replaced the capacitors. I checked the output voltage from the power supply but still get the same thing.

How do you check the voltage on the hot transitor and what does it look like? I'm not sure what part this is.

    Thanks again

    Mike

It should be around 21 v so chances are the main filter ( Power supply) is functioning

There are about 4 fuses on that deflection board designated as FLxxx check those , then I would check the voltage on the HOT transistor next.

My rca flatscreen turned off suddenly. now it turns on (the light goes on) but nothing happens.

Hello,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where, if otherwise,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
I hope this will help in solving the problem...

Colors wont line up and will not manually adjust.Screen is also bowed. Last time this happened I replaced sub deflection board and this cured problem.I just replaced this board again did not fix problem

sounds like the power supply for this portion of the set isn't working this will result in a bowed picture with the colors failing to line up- check that the voltage that is supposed to be there is.

Colored lines on top portion of screen with blurry colored picture

Hi:
This is due to a faulty convergence power supply or voltage supply to the convergence board, first thing to check is the deflection board this the board to the right of the unit look at if from the back.
Check all connection on the flyback and resolder is any cold solder joints are found. Also there are tree micro fuses the may of blown if there are any bad connection around the flyback.

Colors r seperated n the top and bottom of picture r curved

HI:
This is a convergence power supply problem on your deflection board. There are 2 small bias fuses on the deflection board that has blown, usually this is caused by bad connections on the flyback transformer, it is also possible that the convergence power supply has failed also, but normally on this model open micro fuses on the deflection board is your prolem.

Rca hd52w59 chirping sound and light 3 times no picture

chirping sound is a short of some kind, could be the flyack or horizontal output, could also be a bad picture tube or power supply capacitors, you really need a tv repairman to troubleshoot this.

I HAVE AN RCA ITC 222 CHASSIS THAT THE CONVERENCE IS NOT WORKING , I KNOW THE PROBEM IS ON THE DEFLECTION PCB, BUT IF YOU REPLACE THE FUSE AND THE DIODE IT WILL NOT STAY FIXED , DO YOU KNOW THE FIX WSOLAR

the problem is not to do with the deflection! it is still working if you are seeing a picture, it is the power supply for the convergence. it isn't working at this time. it is usually a smaller separate pcb
if this supply isn't working the picture looks wacked. rca's seldom have an issue with convergence and are made better than most you will notice the heat sinks for the convergence output that are discreet and will outlast many other brands that use chips.put a dvm on the output of the supply to confirm. if power is there then the seldom problematic outputs is to blame.

RCA MODEL#D52W20 WHEN TURN ON THE POWER BOTTON THE GREEN POWER LED JUST BLINKS TV DOSEN'T COME ON.

Two major problems occur to cause this, and both are on deflection p.c.b. First, after removing the back look for two or three capacitors in the power supply that are bulging or have exploded in power supply and replace. You can see this looking down on chassis and this occurs on the top of the components in question. Second, look for burn marks or arcing around high voltage transformer, or simply a shorted horizontal output transistor. You will need an ohm meter to test the transistor. These solutions have fixed every identical set to yours,(20 or so) If you would rather replace the board try PTS out of bloomington or google your model number for replacement parts. Good luck.

My TV wont turn on

the symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (hor. oscillator, pre-drive, or drive circuits). supply voltages for the tuner, vif, sif, and vertical output are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you doesnt know anything about these stuffs, better bring it to a qualified service tecnhician.
