Sorry my mistake its m7 not m10

  • trojan79 Sep 18, 2008

I just done a check and the video card is called Mobility M10 and I think its a 64mb card.

I also forgot to tell you that one game I use to play with no trouble at all (LMA MANAGER 2008) played fine a few months ago and I reinstalled just a week ago and the graphics are all distorted.

Inbetween this I have wiped my laptop once because of hard drive failure. But I reinstalled all the latest drivers. I have played other 3d games in the past without any issues untill now.

I upgraded the ram to 1gb.

The distortions happen within a few minutes of loading the game, which may include red dots, graphics stretch out, weird shapes with points on them like stretch out triangles that cover the whole screen then when I return to windows and move the curser around somtimes it leaves like a fuzzy red/pink trail behind it on the screen, but when I refreash the clears it clears up.

Thanks heaps, the machine has had overheating problems in the past and I am now using a cooling pad to help cool it down. But I never cleaned the machine out, so I will give the laptop a good burst of compressed air and maybe it might fix the problem. If not I'm getting a new PC not laptop.

    Thanks again for your help.

Okay, the m7 seems to have an ATI Radeon 9600 graphics card. Does yours?

How much RAM do you have? It looks like it originally came with 512mb. Have you ever upgraded it?

What are the artifacts (distortions) that you see? Weird colors? "Fuzzy" triangles? Lines? Different artifacts can mean different things.

A Radeon 9600 card should be 3d capable up to a certain point, depending on the games, so there are still some possibilities should this be the case.

    Hello trojan79,

Do you know what graphics card your notebook has? It would be the first place to start. If it has an Intel Graphics media accelerator, then that's pretty equivalent to not having a graphics card, and you're out of luck in when it comes to 3d games.

Also, what are some of the games that you are trying to play? Even with a graphics card, some games will have more trouble than others depending what they are and what you're running.

For some reason, also, I can't find much on an Easynote m10. Are you sure that's the right model? I can find m3, m5, and m7, but not m10. Let me know if it's different, and there still may be something out there to do or fix.

M10 was a codename for the Radeon 9600, so you're good with that.

If everything worked right before, and you're getting artifacts, andyou have the latest drivers, and the game worked fine before, then thatdoesn't leave too much that I can think of. Typically, artifactshappen due to overheating/hardware issues. I used to get artifacts onan old dell of mine when I was playing around with overclocking my card.

You should check your machine to see if the fans/interior have built updust, especially since it's a few years old, and see if your fan is working properly. Try to keep your machinecool, and adjust graphics settings for performance over quality.

I was looking to see if Omega Drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/) would be compatible with your machine, and see if that would help, but I just can't be sure, as laptops are more finicky about unfamiliar drivers. It sounds like you're doing everything else right, but even the hardware can show it's age sometimes.

    Hello!
I have Packard Bell M7203 with exactly the same problem. Did you find any solution? I think it is graphic memory corruption.

it partially depends on what you are looking for a new video card to do, games movies, 3d graphics rendering and on the price you want to pay. Likely you have integrated video which will probably be Intel Graphics based and your choices come down to either Radeon or Nvidia. There are a ton of products out there, with the I3 processor you have I would not invest in the latest and greatest because the rest of your system would be lagging behind. I have been running a EVGA GTX660 card for about 2 years and I have been quite happy. I play a few games and I have a TV hooked up to the HDMI connector for watching movies.

most keyboard keys have a mechanism to keep them to their proper strikers. In your case, it seems as though something has come loose. With proper tools, or great care this can be mended.

I would first try to clear out anything that may have become caught underneath the key.
