    Hello pickee,

I need a bit more information to help out here. What is the model of your computer, and is it a desktop or laptop? Do you only have a single VGA connector on your computer, or do you have more than one?

As a second note, I found this note with a tiny bit of online searching:

"There is also a VGA input for computers
that is only compatible with 640x480 data at 60 Hertz.", fromhttp://www.laaudiofile.com/ws65908.html

If you try setting your display to that, it may work. Let me know if you need assistance in doing that. Sadly, if it is only compatible with that resolution, I can't imagine it looking very good on your tv anyway.

sometimes you need to have the computer off before hooking up such a connection so the video card can identify the screen being used when the computer is first turned on.... also maybe incompatible with the adaptor

My acer veriton desk top is not booting up and giving a beep continues beep also moniter is not displyaing omething

This is likely a result of the computer not recognizing the monitor. During the POST test during startup, the computer will check for a video output. It can range from the video card failing to just not having the monitor plugged in. I would check you connections, perhaps try a different monitor, even a television that has either HDMI, DVI, or VGA input. If that does not fix it, it is likely your graphics card or on board graphics from the motherboard. Is there anything new since the last time the computer worked? How old is your PC?

CONNECT PC TO TV

If you're TV has a vga or hdmi port then just hook them up with one of those. For vga make sure you select vga input in the tv's menu. For hdmi select the proper hdmi input in the tv input menu. You of course will need a vga cable or an hdmi cable and make sure the desktop has an hdmi port first if you go that route. If not you'll have to buy an hdmi addon card.

I am trying to hook up a 26 inch viZio to my hip desktop utilizing the VGA cord. It won't come up? I am on the comp screen on the tv also.

Once you plug the VGA cable from the computer to the VGA port on the tv, get the remote for the TV and go to the Select Input function so that you can select PC or Computer as the input source. Then Reboot the Computer.

Once the computer reboots it will probably display on the tv. If not, Press and Hold the FN function key on the computer then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the display. The correct key (F1 thru F12) will have LCD/CRT on it or it might have the icon of a display.
Once it is pressed the video should toggle each time you hit it from showing on the Computer only, TV only, both the TV and Computer.

My monitor has an "input

Out of range typically means that the resolution in windows is set higher then the monitor can support. You will need to get into windows to remedy this.
You can do this one of two ways. You can try to hook up to a more advanced monitor and do it.
OR
If you have video at first, you can press F8 as the computer is starting to boot up. this will open the advanced booting options menu. Select Run in VGA mode OR you can try Safe mode. Once you are in there you can change the resolution by Right clicking on the desktop and selecting Properties or Personalize. Then under display settings you can adjust the screen resolution using the slider bar. Set it to something like 1024x768 and then save exit and reboot normally. Once in there you can look up the max screen resolution your monitor supports and set it accordingly.
Hope this helps. Please vote if so.

Tv stopped showing my pc screen through hdmi cord

Try rebooting your laptop while the TV is on and select the correct input with your TV remote.

If that does not work, trying going into display properties in the Control Panel and setting up your TV as a secondary display from there.

- Start > Control Panel > Display Properties
- Settings Tab
- Right click on grey box next to blue box and select "Attach"
- Click Apply and restart your computer.

Hook up a Sony VGC RA 840G desktop to a Samsung 46 inch TV

Some TV's don't have a VGA input. S-Video cable is more common. Look on the back of your computer an see if you have an S-Video jack. If you have a TV compatible output on your computer, such as an S-video jack, just take an S-video cable and connect it to your computer and your TV. If you do not, then attach your VGA end of your adapter to your computer and use the RCA, S-video or Component Video cable to attach to your TV. After you've made all the connections, make sure you are on the correct TV video input. Press the input button on your TV or remote until you see your computer's signal.

How do i hook my compter to my tv

im assuming here you have a new LCD TV with High Definition

if you have a new LCD TV most of them come with either a HDMI input or a 15pin VGA input , if you computers graphics card doesn't have a HDMI output on the graphics card you can use a male to male VGA cable , they are used on most PC LCD screens if you don't need it , 15pin VGA cables usually have blue plugs and have 15 pins :) or you could go to an electronic store and ask for a male to male VGA cable.

once you get the pc conencted to the tv ,

1. right click on the desktop
2. click properties
3. click on the settings tab
from here you can change the resolution and make the TV look decent.

i hope this helps you :)
