No driver

most of the drivers for pc's are available on the internet, all have to do is connect ur pc to internet and search for the driver
note that when the drivers are not installed a notification will be shown saying "ur hardwre installation was not finished" then there will be an option showing connect to the internet for searching driver.
u can activate the driver searching by selecting device manager button in the control panel and double clicking the devices listed under the category "unknown devices"then a window appears whether u want to install the driver automatically or manually.
choose the option manually. and in the next box they ask for source.u can either select the source as a cd drive or u can select the option to connect to the internet

I just got a used toshiba tecra 9100, i have a wireless usb cord, but i do not know how to set it up

First of all, you have to look for cd that contain the drivers of your devices especially if there are generic devices. But if you are using the latest operating system like windows 7 or vista, and of most your devices are branded i am sure the OS will automatically install the required drivers for the devices. Let the OS detect them. If it still not. Then, intstall updates for your OS via internet connection. This may update your OS for new drivers. Or you may go to the device manager and look for the devices (icons) that need drivers to be installed, then click update drivers for the devices, select looking drivers online. this will help u a lot.

Cant get scanner to work

1. Don't install software/drivers form the HP CD. If already done, uninstall them using setup.exe from this CD

2. Connect the psc2210 USB cable to the PC. Windows will load divers from Internet but will not be able to install two of them: "psc2200 Series" and " Hewlet Packard psc2200 Series ". Repair assistant will not be able to fix the problem either (probably the Windows 7 bug).

3. In the « Control Panel->Hardware and Sound services », activate "Device Manager" found under « Devices and Printers ».

4. Under « Other devices » look for « HP psc2200 Series » with a small « bulb » icon, bearing a yellow question mark. . Select « update driver » for this icon : Windows scans Internet and installs the related driver , followed by the message « Windows has successfully updated driver for your device HP psc2200 series »

5. In « Device Manager the «HP psc2200 series » now appears under « Imaging Devices ».

6. In the Control Panel, under « Devices->Printers and Faxes » the icon of the HP psc2200 series is now shown without the error warning. Clicking on this icon offers several choices, "Start scan" being one of them

PCI Slot 1 (PCI bus 1, device 10, function 0)

Hi there, looks like your devices need updates to function correctly,

from devices manager,
select the device with the yellow question,
right click and click on update
even if you have no disk or internet
let the wizard find the drivers automatically
should be preinstalled with your OS XP
go thru your list and update any other question marks in yellow.

Should be able to update the network device on this system and then connect to the internet to finish anything else

heres the link for the Chaintech motherboards

Hope this helps,Cheers Misterdj

Ethernet controller

If the device is functional but not listed under "Network Adapters" in the device manager, it may be listed under "Other devices" as an "unknown device" or ethernet adaper. I would suggest using another computer to go to There type in the model of your laptop and "drivers" for a keyword. It should then take you to a support area where you can download the drivers for your network card, IF it is functional.

I cannot change my screen resolution to a high resolution which effects my internet explorer

(assuming you have windows)
it sounds like you need to get a driver for your video card. right click on my computer and select manage. then go to device manager. the model number will either be under display adapters or under unknown devices. if you can't find it go and download siw. under that program go to devices and look for your video card info in the two aforementioned places.

the next step is to go and download drivers for your video card. go to the cards manufactures web site or just put the info into Google. they will be located under drivers or support. download. scan with an anti-virus and install.

Connect to Internet

Go into the device manager and check to see if the drivers for the ethernet controller are there. If they are, uninstall and reinstall doing a hardware search, if that doesn't fix it then it's a faulty port. (should be under warranty) If the drivers are not there, then you will need to use another computer to go to Dell's support site, download and burn the drivers to a disc, in order to install them into your new machine. Also while you're in the device manager, look for any other device drivers you may need, you will recognize any devices that don't have drivers by a yellow question mark. You might as well burn all of them you need to one disc just in case you need them in the future.
