Cant get scanner to work

PROBLEM SOLUTION :

1. Don't install software/drivers form the HP CD. If already done, uninstall them using setup.exe from this CD

2. Connect the psc2210 USB cable to the PC. Windows will load divers from Internet but will not be able to install two of them: "psc2200 Series" and " Hewlet Packard psc2200 Series ". Repair assistant will not be able to fix the problem either (probably the Windows 7 bug).

3. In the « Control Panel->Hardware and Sound services », activate "Device Manager" found under « Devices and Printers ».

4. Under « Other devices » look for « HP psc2200 Series » with a small « bulb » icon, bearing a yellow question mark. . Select « update driver » for this icon : Windows scans Internet and installs the related driver , followed by the message « Windows has successfully updated driver for your device HP psc2200 series »

5. In « Device Manager the «HP psc2200 series » now appears under « Imaging Devices ».

6. In the Control Panel, under « Devices->Printers and Faxes » the icon of the HP psc2200 series is now shown without the error warning. Clicking on this icon offers several choices, "Start scan" being one of them

PCI Slot 1 (PCI bus 1, device 10, function 0)

Hi there, looks like your devices need updates to function correctly,

from devices manager,
select the device with the yellow question,
right click and click on update
even if you have no disk or internet
let the wizard find the drivers automatically
should be preinstalled with your OS XP
go thru your list and update any other question marks in yellow.

Should be able to update the network device on this system and then connect to the internet to finish anything else

heres the link for the Chaintech motherboards

Hope this helps,Cheers Misterdj

Ethernet controller

If the device is functional but not listed under "Network Adapters" in the device manager, it may be listed under "Other devices" as an "unknown device" or ethernet adaper. I would suggest using another computer to go to support.hp.com. There type in the model of your laptop and "drivers" for a keyword. It should then take you to a support area where you can download the drivers for your network card, IF it is functional.

Connect to Internet

Go into the device manager and check to see if the drivers for the ethernet controller are there. If they are, uninstall and reinstall doing a hardware search, if that doesn't fix it then it's a faulty port. (should be under warranty) If the drivers are not there, then you will need to use another computer to go to Dell's support site, download and burn the drivers to a disc, in order to install them into your new machine. Also while you're in the device manager, look for any other device drivers you may need, you will recognize any devices that don't have drivers by a yellow question mark. You might as well burn all of them you need to one disc just in case you need them in the future.

Finding Device Manager

Once you have the Device Manager, click on the Repair tab. to find Device Manager:

Go to www.usasupport.philips.com, enter in your model number - SA261; on the next page, click on SA261/17 (not /17B); click on software and drivers; then click on, Firmware upgrade - software

If this fails, enter model sa6087 and click on the "Device/Firmware Manager" link under the software & drivers section for that device

If this fails, go to start-->settings-->control panel (if using Windows XP), click on Add Hardware (with the GoGear connected), and run the Add Hardware wizard

Vista has a feature that allows you to add the driver by searching on the internet;
1) Go to www.microsoft.com, enter your mp3 player model number in the search tab and see if a new driver has been developed for this device to make it compatible with Vista
2) With your mp3 player plugged in to the computer, go to Start --> Control Panel --> Systema nd Maintenance --> Device Manager
3) Find your mp3 player on the list and double-click the device; click on driver tab and then update driver - select the option that allows you to search the computer AND the internet for the driver (make sure you are connected to the internet BEFORE selecting this option); if you do not see your exact mp3 player name on the list, look for a similar looking name on the list such as "MTP Device"; also, look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark next to them - this is a sign of a device needing a repair or driver update

If all of the above fails, reply to me - I have a few other tricks up my sleeve.

-Tha Mp3 Doctor
