Honeywell heating controls

The room unit (T8617) of my Honeywell Smartfit control system suddenly will only display and control the water heating system not the central heating system. Is the defect likely to be in the room unit or the base unit and is there acure, please?

Hi,Richmart
I'm Harvey the Plumber,
First, Your question is if your thermostat is wired correctly!

Assuming that it is correct, a common problem that most people and plumbers overlook is correctly setting the heat anticipater on the thermostat.
Assuming that you have a gas central heating system, then you must simply look on the gas valve for the amp rating.
For instance,if the gas valve printing says .4 amps then set the heat anticipater for .4
It's common for the unit to turn on and off erratically (short cycling) when this setting is not correct.
If all you are worryied about is the wiring, you must look at the wireing diagram that came with the thermostat.
Further diagnoses would requie detailed information about your central heating system.
Or the alternative would be to have a hands on tech help you out.

SOURCE: Honeywell T403A1174 suddenly doesn't appear to call for heat

some times inside the boiler on the internal pipework you will see little sensors, on the central heating piping there sometimes is a thermastic sensor on side of flow pipe with a little reset button on ? i guess with the problem you said the poiler locked out and the pipe work overheated ? this is a safety feature on some boilers not, all and easerly reset via this button ?

T6360 dial not working

Turn system off then back on and see if it is working. The manual can be obtained at:
http://historical-products.ecc.emea.honeywell.com/2008_1/pdf/en0r8281uk07r1204.pdf

There is not enough information to give you any more help. What does "Dial not working indicate", the Honeywell T6360b1028 is a heating and cooling thermostat with the potential of having a heat anticipator.

Gas valve faultdetected

Copy following link to troubleshoot by type of gas control valve, and read how to replace gas control:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html#intellivent

There are basically two types of Honeywell gas control valves.
One for atmospheric-vented water heater, and one for power-vented
For both types of controls: 8 flash + 3 flash error: replace gas control valve.
Water heater does not need to be drained to replace this gas control.

Repeated 3 flash on power vented honeywell gas control thermostat means system in lockout.

Repeated 3 flash on atmospheric-vent Honeywell gas control valve means temperature sensor failure.
Take apart gas control, and buy temperature sensor if sold separately at AO Smith dealer.

Question posted under Honeywell thermostat.
If you have honeywell thermostat, then model number is located on back of device.
Google that model number in following format: Honeywell xxxxx4 .pdf
That will give you on-line pdf manual that is downloadable and searchable.
Then re-post question with exact model number and include what you are operating so expert can access and read manual alongside you.

If you have some other device, then post the brand and model number, and include what voltage, and what you are controlling for best possible solution.

If you have a timer or a switch, it is possible that more information is available on following links:

I have an A. O. Smith Model FPSH 40-261 hot water heater. It won't heat water. there is a green light on the control flashing. What does it mean?

AO Smith uses the Honeywell ICON gas valve with green indicator light.
Some models use White Rodgers Intellivent with a row of indicator lights.

The gas control blinks the error code:
