Water filter clogged, not letting enough water thru to make ice?

SOURCE: slow water flow

dadcanfix. There are two possibilities here. One could be the water valve itself, clogged or not seating or opening properly. The second would be the water tank on the refrigerator side, partially frozen. I believe they have a kit now with coiled tubing that replaces that tank because of the trouble they had with it. Remove the refer drawers and take a hair dryer and go over the tank lightly. See if that improves the water flow. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: freezer does not make ice

You need to check and see if ice maker has any water init. if not check the fill tube that goes thru the back wall for stoppage while you have it out rin the maker thru a harvest mode and listen for the sounds of the solonoid opening. If tube is full you'll need to replace the slow leaking valve a common problem. for parts call 704-819-6557

Kenmore side by side,no water going into the the Ice maker

"IF" the unit worked before the filter change you have to check a few things. First I want you to run a few cups of water from the in door water dispenser to make sure that all the air is out of the line and out of the filter. IF you encounter any sputtering in doing this it means that the air is coming out of the system. Keep it up until the sputtering stops then let it make ice until the cubes come out. Most of the time the air in the filter takes a few days to process thru the system and start filling the ice tray.
Second if the water comes thru ok without sputtering after five cups then check where the water goes into the back of the freezer compartment. disconnect the fitting and check for ice at that point. if ice get a pan of hot water and dip that end into it to melt the ice in the tube and then afterwards, reinstall it in the back of the fridge and make some ice. You can verify that it is not a valve problem by putting the tube end in a plastic container and letting the ice maker go thru a cycle or two. water should come out and be in the container in the amount of water it takes to fill the ice maker tray.
Third, is the check process of item two. Verify if water comes thru the tubing to fill the ice maker, If not, turn off the water valve supplying the fridge and check for grit in the line clogging the opening in the valve. if grit is present clean it as best you can. IF you have the proper tools and knowledge you can back flush the valve and remove the grit blocking the valve..
This should clear the line and verify proper working of the water control valve and filter. If at any point you have a failure in the checking process it should point you to the failure rather easily. If you suspect it is the valve verify from the label on it the operating voltage and IF, AND ONLY IF, you have a knowledge of electricity and test procedures test the valve with the proper voltage applied. IF you do not understand electricity, do not do it. you might injure yourself or worse.

Goodluck in your testing.

Locate ice maker water level control?

This should be automatic. What is the problem--too litte ice? Do you have a in line water filter out side of unit? Filter in the fridge? Check for dirty filter and you may fix the issue of not enough water getting thru.

Icemaker not working

It is possible you have a speck of dirt in the ice maker water line, there is a very small jet that the water comes thru with a filter in it. I would remove and using an air tank blow out the lines in reverse to clear, also check the water filter for clogs.

My maytag refridgerator is making hollow ice cubes.

Your water valve is not letting enough water into the ice tray. Or you have a clogged filter, if you have one:)

Thru the door component stop working...what parts need replaced? going to take? lights come one but nothing works...water or ice.

It sounds like one of two things 1. your water filter is clogged or frozen, if you still have the bypass try that. if it works after that you just need a new filter, around $40 or 2. your waterline is frooze, try pulling out the crisper drawers anf heating the line with a hair dryer
Good luck

The water will not come out of the door. The ice will work though.

My GE Profile has a system water filter. The manual said that if the filter clogs--it will not allow water to pass thru--any ice already made will still dispense but no new ice will be made. If you have a filter and it is over 9-10 months old, it could be clogged.

No ice from ice maker

sounds like the inlet valve is defective. you should have a dual water inlet valve, one side for the dispencer and the other for the ice maker. I would check to be sure the inlet for the icemaker is not clogged, also check to be sure that ice has not clogged the water line near the ice maker, or the valve could be defective.

I have a Frigidaire, plrs267za. The ice maker will not fill the tray with water. It runs thru its dump cycle then, I hear what sounds like the valve turn on to fill with water but, no water comes into the...

The filter is probably clogged. Turn off the water supply to the icemaker, disconnect it from icemaker and turn the supply valve on long enough to determine water is available. You say you hear the fill valve opening. The filter is the only problem remaining.
