A WEP key contains 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters (0-9, A-F). It could be that you are missing a character or two. Make sure that you enter the correct and complete WEP key provided by alicedsl so that you may connect to it and go online.

Do you have a wireless modem/router provided by aliceDSL? If so, what is the name or brand of it? You may verify the WEP key on the setup page of the wireless modem/router .

1. dissconnect the dsl modem wait 10 seconds
2. plug the power back up to the DSL modem

Thats the universal protical for reset.

3. inter your router setup page
This can be done by typing 192.168.1.1 in your browser address bar and pressing enter
consult your router documentation or website for specific numbers.
if your router wants a password or user name the default password may be "password"
( no user name required )

4. enable the wireless network in the router configuration pages.

5. enjoy having complete control of your router configuration.

Thank you for choosing FixYa!

HI Nick
Try hitting the delete key instead of F2 and post back and let me know if that works. There are some suggestions about your machine I read through but you have to get into BIOS to use them.

Eee PC 900 has problem with wireless connection

Hi terryandy,

I am using the Eee PC from Taiwan also. It is running good.

Based on your scenario, have you tried changing another new router?

Your description of having "out of range" is highly probable due to router hardware failure.

Try replacing the router and update us again.

Thank you.

I am needing the key or WEP to re-connect to wireless

If it was not setup with a WEP key then try "admin" that is the password for Linksys when not set up. The purpose of the WEP key is to install a password to type in before anyone can use your network. So if "admin" does not work then you have to ask the person who set up the Wireless Network what the WEP key is.

Cant conect to internet

  • Wii Error Code 51300 - 51399
  • This error is caused by the Wii being unable to connect to the access point.

    To solve this error :

Try changing the channel of your wireless router to either channel 1 or channel 11 which can increase download speeds.

If your router is using WEP encryption
  • Ensure your key is hexadecimal, consisting of 0-9 or A-F only, no other special characters or letters.
  • 64 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 10 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
  • 128 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 26 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.

If your router is using WPA encryption, the Wii is compatible with :
    WPA - PSK(TKIP)
    WPA - PSK(AES)
    WPA2 - PSK(AES)

If your router is using MAC filtering, ensure the Wii MAC address has been added to the list of approved MAC address on your wireless router settings

I have a netgear router and only two computers can connect to the internet. My other two computers cannot connect. We type in the network password key and everything, but still no connection.

Try connecting computers via ethernet and see what happens.

Try changing Netgear wifi channel to 6 or 8

Try removing encryption and seeing what happens

If it works use a simple WEP 64 bit code

Try removing all wifi entries from your wifi software and starting afresh - too many conflicting entries confuse the system

Trying to connect to my home wi-fi using laptop with installed linksys wpc54g wireless adapter but the problem is when i use linksys utility it starts, but can't find wifi lans i see frozen word searching...

limited or no connectivity means your wlan not communicating with the router, check if you turn on the wlan switch on your laptop or try to install updated driver for you wlan

if thats a external wireless lan card try to unplug and plug it back.

K, have you tried to ping your base station?
Does your laptop show it finding a wireless connection within range?
Do you have WEP enabled on the router? If so, do you have it locked down by Mac address?

I am visiting my aunt, she has att broad band with wireless, I put the wep key in and it gives me limited or no connectivity. It gave me a 168 address so I manually put in a 192 address, got rid of limited...

First take off WEP.
Next, ensure DHCP is enabled on router.
Don't set a manual IP address in computer, it should auto detect.
You probably have the WEP key wrong

Use the HEX WEP key in windows, do not use a pass phrase.
