What type of connection is it? Internet VPN? Point to point VPN? VPN license in the phone?

Where is the far end location? Home? or another business? What type of internet connection do both sites have?

My situation involves two phones using the built-in VPN functionality, Avaya 500, NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall FVS338. One phone actuallly on our network goes out to the internet and back in via VPN. The other phone is on a home network using some type of long-range wireless system (off-site employee working from a rural farm). Our main site has two bonded T-1 circuits for our data.

Our solution seems to have been to change the SA-Lifetime on the router to 432000 seconds.

Does anybody know how to flash the firmware of an avaya 5610sw IP from the VPN to the regular in office

1) Edit your existing 46vpnupgrade.scr file as follows. Don't forget the line at the very bottom of this document!

2) Next set your phone's GROUP back to 0 by pressing the MUTE button (just press it don't hold it down) then enter GROUP on the keypad (47687) and press #.

3) Reboot your phone and the non VPN firmware should be re-installed on the phone.

Avaya 18D phone only speaker works not the handset. Order a replacement phone and the new phone does the same. We swapped locations snd the problem goes with the phone. Handset placed on a known working...

Avaya Partner 18D Button phone:
Two possible solutions,
First, could have a bad handset cord.
Second, I have come across a bad handset connection ports on the Euro style phones. The handset cord and the port just don't mesh well or the port itself is bad.

I need the pinout for the Avaya 2400 series telephone headset RJ-11 Jack.

I noticed that Avaya headset is different from the Avaya handset or any other standard headset: The outer two pins are switched.

Avaya-Headset-pinning is like this:
Look to the RJ11 and turn it until you see leads from top and from front, then from left to right you look at
1) mic 5V
2) speak
3) speak
4) mic gnd

RJ11 of Avaya-handset and any standard headset/handset from the supermarket:
1) mic gnd
2) speak
3) speak
4) mic 5V

Hope that helps.

Have the 6408D+ phone. Got a Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset.

You can use an handset lifter accessory, such as the HL1 or HL10 to pick up the handset every time you need to use the headset.
