Yes if your going to put 1 gig on each slot it will work because the maximum RAM that your motherboard can handle is only 4 GB and make sure that all four are of the same speed but just incase that you bought a higher speed RAM it will work still but the speeed would be the speed of your lower speed RAM, hope this help

A8V-E Deluxe does not allow tablets of Kingston 1GB DDR 400 memory in either slot. Should I do a BIOS update? Can you help please.

Hi bud , Your motherboard is built for dual ram slots , and if you just insert one ram card into it , it could not work,... also see if you can insert the ram into a diferent PC and check if the ram is not faulty , otherwise try update chipset drivers
Hope you come right

Want to add memory to Gateway 700x

Upgrading RAM on your Gateway 700X (DDR) Computer is easy, Gateway 700X (DDR) Computer takes the PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMMs. Supports Dual Channel DDR. RAM Type, and comes installed with 512 MB (removable) of RAM.
You can upgrade your Gateway 700X (DDR) Computer to up to a maximum of 2.0 GB RAM, the Computer has 4 sockets to install RAM, already with 512 MB (removable) standard RAM installed. For best Computer performance use the maximum amount of allowed RAM per slot for your system.

Ram problem

You may have inserted the RAM wrongly, or the two modules are incompatible. The 3 beeps you hear indicates that RAM is not functioning properly.
Remove the RAM module that was recently inserted. Most likely the RAM slot is unusable now, as there was a short circuit at the slot.
Try using the RAM module on a different slot. Also make sure that that you have purchased the recommended type of RAM, ie DDR/DDR2, etc. for the slot.
It is always better to use a single RAM module, rather than 2 different modules from different companies..

My msi vis p4m800 motherboard don't support two ram

Hi, does your board have 2 diferent color RAM slots?

if it does you must install the RAM in the same color slots.

If not then you have the option of buying a 512 stick of RAM and installing that as a quick fix. The other alternative is to have your board tested by a technician.
