Sound driver not working

the drivers might have been corrupted by something or you might have got a virus run your antivrus program and test then
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall either the sound drivers or the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this

My sound device is not working

hi murugan, i am realy happy to help you in this problem but i need some brief details of your system ( what is your os , are you using on board sound card r external sound card ) but if you can you provide to me are i will give you perfect solution or else i will give you some basic normal problem solutions base on sound device.

Step1 : First of all check what is your default audio device setting. For this, open Control Panel > Sounds and audio devices, open Audio tab

See that the Device selected is your sound-card or on-board audio device. It should not be blank or some modem device. Set the Default sound playback and sound recording device correctly from the drop down menu. If your device is not there in this list see the step 2.

Step2: If the step 1 is not successful, it means that your sound device driver software has become either corrupt or has been accidentally un-installed. In such case, install the sound driver from the sound-card/mother-board driver CD. You can also download the latest driver if you don't have the driver CD. After you install the driver, restart your computer, and then check the settings as in step 1 again.

If neither of step not work, its mean your sound card is corrupted , i can give you two option for that

option one : internal sound card , you can buy one and give to your motherboard wight color install the drive you can get back your sound as good as old price range form 6$

option two : external sound card . now usb sound card is available in market u can use them too its very easy to install and use ( but quality will be low) price range form 3$

I am formate my pc after sound device is not work

After reinstalling/installing an Operating System you can lose the Audio Drivers or sometimes they just corrupt.. Try reinstalling the Audio Drivers from the disk provide with your P.C./Laptop. If you no longer have the disk just visit the website of the makers of your P.C./Laptop or Motherboard and download the Audio Drivers from there, after that install them.
Thumbs up please if this works for you, thanks.

Yes there is something wrong! The sound card driver is corrupted!

YOu need to check on device manager again. Look for your drivers there.

If you do not see the EXACT NAME of your sound card, then the driver that is installed is a DEFAULT driver made by the os.

Ex: This is a sound card driver name listed in Device manager:
IDT HIGH DEFINISION AUDIO

This is an example of a default sound card driver that will not work well on certain sounds or will not work at all:

LEGACY SOUND DEVICE

Even thought you many not see a yellow question mark (which you should be checking for too just in case)on any of the listings for your hardware, chances are you are still using a default sound card driver due to a corruption to its original sound card driver.

So recheck your device manager and find out the exact name of your original sound card. If there is no match to your exact name of your sound card, then you need to REINSTALL your sound card driver again and you will immediatly see your sound card working again :)

If this does not work, you may have to change your sound card.

Hope this helps :)
