Hi,

Standard would be:

  • pink to the microphone jack;
  • green or black to speaker out jack.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

How do I troubleshoot this mic?

Check the coil resistance, first on the capsule (unscrew the front screen) and then on the No. 2 and 3 pins on the XLR.
Now you know....
Probably your membrane coil went away.
That happens, so sorry, but check...
Peace-

Why can't i get sound when I plug mic in?

Are you plugging the mic into a computer sound card or some other device? If it's a computer then make sure you use the pink colored jack. Then open the control panel and then click on the sounds and audio devices icon. Check to see if the volume slider for the mic is there. If not then set up the mic there. Be sure the mic is not muted.

No sound from my mxl v67 condenser mic

These things use Phantom Power, from your mixer. If it HAS it.
If not, now you know, get an external supply ($$!).
Peace-

Does the Behringer xm8500 work on it's own, or do I have to hook it up to something? My daughter wants a microphone she can sing into.

All microphones have to be hooked to an amplifier to work. The socket at the bottom with the 3 pins in it is called an XLR jack. You need to plug an XLR cord into that and then plug it into an amp that has an XLR or 1/4 inch microphone input (using an adapter).

If she just wants it for looks, then no, you don't need to plug it in.

No Sound Coming out my Microphone

i know this might sound a little obvious and maybe irrelevant to the problem, but did you press the switch on the mic? it will turn the mic on and off. make sure sound and mic are unmuted in windows volume control. if both are these didnt solve the problem, test the mic on another computer. if the mic works, maybe its not the mic that has the problem. if the mic doesnt work, then your mic may be defective or damaged in some way or other.
