I have a ranger 305d how can i set it up to weld aluminum?

You may not be able to unless it is DC voltage You need the special rods for welding aluminum but my understanding is it takes a DC welder to use them.

I hace a Ranger 305 D - we run an air compressor off of the welder but t will not run now it is like it is only putting out on one leg of the plug?

Look at the fuel filter, it should have a access panel on the side. It should have a clear plastic bulb so you can see how dirty it is. It needs to be 2/3rds full of fuel, if not it won't get enough fuel flow. Also do a plug change and Clean air filter. A little trick is to pull the choke out a little and see if it runs better, if so its a restricted fuel problem. Check these simple items before hiring a pro.

Need to trouble shoot output problems on Lincoln welder

That could be a number of things. Too much heat inside welder could also do this by creating more resistance in your leads. The easist place to start would be to take the cover off your welder and blow all the dust off your electronics so it has a way too cool properly. Make sure all power is disconnected before attempting this. Try this simple fix first. Any welding machine on the market can benefit from this simple preventative maintenance!

Miller welder CP250TS

You don't say why you need schematics. Most of the stuff that you need to know to install, use, and understand the welder is covered in the operator manual. You can get one at this web page.

There is also a copy of the schematic diagram on the inside cover of most Miller welders. Please be careful if you're not familiar with high current power supplies, you could get hurt pretty badly in the blink of an eye.

Carl

Hook up

I think I can help you do this, let's start with the general and you can ask questions if we don't cover everything you need.

The HF251D connects to the welding machine using 3 cables, you connect the Electrode terminal on the welding machine (the Lincoln) to the Electrode In terminal inside the HF251. Connect the Work terminal on the Lincoln to the Work In/Out inside the HF251, also connect the work (ground) clamp of your torch to this terminal. Be careful to select the correct size cables for the maximum current you intend to weld with.

The 3rd cable is the gray 14 pin round control cable that comes out the back of the HF251, it needs to be plugged into your Lincolns RMT14 socket. You'll also need to make sure that the Lincoln is set for remote control, this is usually a switch on the front panel. I'm pretty sure that the remote control cables have a standard pin layout, but we can check this by comparing the specs in both owners manuals.

After that you connect the torch and gas bottle to the HF251, start the Lincoln, and TIG weld until you're happy.

I've got a manual for the HF251 and can get a shop manual for it if we need it. What I'm not sure about is your Lincoln - what model is it exactly?

regards,
Carl
