Hi,
After factory reset all the settings of the tv will goto factory default. To get the video again you have to auto tune the TV. For the go to the menu and select setup then select Auto program. Wait till the auto tuning end.

Polaroid FLM-1511 Monitor

right click on your desktop / display properties (mine is nvidia display properties)
There should be settings there to set up multiple displays.
You may need to find display properties from control panel

No pic just sound

Recommend you verify where the video plug is inserted in rear of TV, there are video in and video out. If you have audio going in from cable/sat box, but video going to video out (instead of in), this could create the situation you describe.
Also make sure you are on the correct 'source' setting if you are using Video, etc.

I have my polaroid hooked up with an hdmi cable

Thats because your TV is not high definition and cannot process the high def signal. serial hook up does not give a highh def signal.

Polaroid 15" HD Widescreen LCD 1511-TLXB, turn on, stays on for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then screen goes black, no sound, no menu

Do you have to turn it back on with the remote after this?

If so, then you may have set a timer by accident through the menu system.

More information would be required.

Sound but no picture. menus work.

I had the same problem. In the menu, the image button was grey, and could not be hi-lighted, and the screen stayed blue. I was using the AC power cord. I plugged in the DC power cord instead, and it "woke" the unit up. I switched back to the AC power and it works fine. If you don't hve the DC cord that came with the TV, try andy 12 volt dc output cord with a positive tip.
