There are several fixes to this problem 1. replace pickup asembly 2. Clean the rubber pickup band are roller with a rubber cleaning compound (not alchohol0 alcohol dries out the rubber.
This is a common problem with printers and faxes, Paper has a tendency to leave a glass glaze on the pickup rollers therefore causing the paper to slip on the rollers are to be misfed thus causing a paper jam

Paper jams in back of machine?

you have an obstruction either a piece of paper between the rolllers or the secondary feed rollers are not turning.... open the machine and follow the feed path ...take a piece of paper and manually feed the paper with the machine in the off position look at the feed rollers then the secondary rollers( usually two small rods with rubber sleeves kissing each other ...if you can look at the sides on the machine( inside the cover) see if the gears ( usually white ) can turn or mesh correctly... if you do not see any obstruction then these rollers are not turning when they are supposed to when you press the print button. 90 percent of these problems are paper jams if no jam something is not activating the feed rollers

Every time i ask for 1 print. the machine pulls a 2nd sheet of paper .the 2nnd one gets jam inside. if i ask a report (1 sheet) it always pulls 2. i blow air in all the sensors, got no effect. im starting...

...I'm starting to think the feed rollers clutch can be the cause..
Yes, it is!

(Dal nome credo che tu sia italiano, dunque il problema sta nel gommino antirumore che si trova sul solenioide presa carta che fa rimanere incollata la leva di sgancio. Basta che lo togli e hai risolto.)

Brothers intellifax 2820 - constant paper jam front and back

Hello,

Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A printer will jam for any number of reasons: It's dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, if the problem still persist after all this, replace the roller.

Take care.

Brother printed paper issue

The ADF feed-in rollers need to be cleaned or replaced. Try raising the ADF lid and clean all the feed rollers with a soapy solution and cloth. If the problem persists, the rollers and double-feed prevention pad should be replaced.

Fax machine is not pulling paper for printing.

Atypically this indicates one of three problems.
  1. the nip rollers have become oily and traction for the paper to feed does not exist
  2. the nip rollers on the paper feed spindles are worn and are not grabbing the paper.
  3. the gear teeth in the sprocket of the feed spindle are damaged (broken)
In case one some manufactures provide utility kits with paper that has a rough surface to which you can condition the rollers (kinda like a sand paper)

In case two and three (above) these items will need to be replaced. This is not a job for a novice and given the return on investment ... you may be better off buying a new machine.

REPEATED REAR PAPER JAMS-BROTHER INTELLIFAX 2820

Try making prints or copies with the rear door open. If it does not jam your fixing unit (hot area) is functioning properly. With the rear door closed try again making copies or prints. If it jams it's most likely the exit rollers acting up.

1. I've seen the exit sensor break on these units and sometimes the drive gears wear and do not feed properly.
2. If using after market toner or refills this may also coat the exit roller with a film which prevents the exit rollers from feeding parper out by reducing the friction of theses rollers. Clean with fantastic untill cloth does not turn black.

Whenever I send a fax on my brother intellifax 2820 it feeds crooked, I can not get it to go in straight. Therefore, the receiver only gets half the fax.

what you will need to do is go to a hardware store and purchase some isoprophyl alcahol. put some on a rag and clean the paper feed rollers if that fails there must be some in side that area like a peice of paper, try cutting a file folder to 8x11 in manually force feed thru a the paper feed section. good luck brother tech

Brother fax 2820

Out of the lower paper tray when you go to print? Try this, remove the cassette tray and use a water dampened cloth and clean the gray paper pickup roller off. A lot of times this has paper fiber build up that causes the paper not to feed. The printer has a certain timing pattern for when paper should reach a certain sensor, and if it doesn't, then a jam error will occur.

Auto feeds crooked

Are we talking about a paper feed problem from the paper cassette tray or the Auto Document feeder on the top. Either way, check the the paper width guides, or if it is the paper cassette tray, remove it and check the paper pick up roller locking clips.
