I have the same problem. One of the springs was off. I reattached it, and the drum still leans forward.

Hotpoint wma57, drum suddenly started moving/banging around inside the machine. I can push the drum back and forward and slightly sideways by hand. What do I need to fix this? Thanks in advance for re

Bad news is that the drum is supported by an aluminum carrier and I would bet it has failed. Many front loaders do and although the manufacturers warranty the stainless steel drum for 10 years, no such protection exists for the carrier. If you got more than 10 years service, consider it a good machine! Time for a replacement as the new carrier and install is about half the cost of a new one or more

Drum rotating unevenly, squeaking

If the drum moves up/down side/side without the outer drum moving, bearings gone, replace. To check for clothing, which I doubt, remove front seal outer section, look around outer part, to bottom you probably find clip, prise apart, front back, not side ways, refit sideways

My washer is off balance during the spin cycle it jumps, and moves around

With the washer empty, tilt it front a few inches and drop it back down. This will re-level the legs. If it still jumps around, replace the drum snubber, inside the front of the machine. It's a rubber pad that keeps the drum from moving around too much. Snubbers dry out with age.

My washer model fjs1397w wont move through a wash cycle or spin drum wont go around on any cycle , tried moving it around by hand will not do anything

if you are unable to turn the drum by hand it may have ceased due to a sock or item of clothing jammed in it behind the drum this in turn may have snapped the belt

Frigidare ftw 647ghso thumping sound in one spot when i manually rotate drum sounds like its rubbing on something

Suspect a bad drum bearing or bent drum bearing shaft. When you rotate the drum, look for movement of the drum up or down while turning. If the drum moves suddenly, suspect the drum bearing. If it slowly moves up or down during turning, suspect a bent shaft on the drum. In either case, it is a major teardown to remove the drum from the outer drum case. If still under warranty, take advantage! Hope this helps!

HOTPOINT WASHING MACHINE - BELT IS RUBBING AGAINST BACK OF DRUM & WEARING BELT + INTO PLASTIC DRUM CASING. I HAVE TRIED MOVING THE BELT TO THE FRONT EDGE OF THE MOTOR PULLEY DRIVE, BUT AFTER A FEW...

if you have gotten that far your good
now try to look at the motor it sounds like your belt might be a lil off track on the mortor shaft
there is a adjustment srew on the top left of the motro its hidden under things but its there
you can looses this and swing the motor
make sure you have it lined up on the motor shaft and it should stay aligned on the pully

The washer drum is hitting in the spin cycle.

When you take off the back panel, check to see if both shock absorbers are intact. We were having some problems with our (ATF6000E) Frigidaire front-loader recently too. I noticed that one of the shock absorbers was broken, for about $25 I got a replacement (two of them, I couldn't find just one). It took about 15 minutes to replace. No problems. With mine, though, I think because the drum was moving around, it dislodged some wires which made it stop filling up with water after a few seconds. I did a test and it said E5E. I would check to replace your shock absorbers before doing any more laundry so your machine will still work and not have other problems like mine.

Drum not moving around although sounds like something internally is moving around. Husband has taken back of and can't see anything obvious

Take the back off put washing machine on spin cycle making sure not to touch anything so you don't get shocked and look at the motor maybe the belt is loose or broken if it is loose just tighten via the spring adjustment or if is old washing machine belt may have streched and needs replaceing if motor don't move maybe needs rewinding and is cheaper to buy new washer.

Machine just started to dance around and is still level?

The 'Damping weghits may have come loose.
There are large concrete block bolted to the drum casing.
Means getting it out and taking the top off to have a look see.

Terrible scraping noise from drum, what is it?

more likely there is a bra wire caught between the inner drum and outer tub, possibly wrapping itself around the element in the bottom.
