Unfortunately this is a very common problem. Microsoft will probably tell you to that the system is out of warranty for this issue. The only help I could give you would be to try and call them first (assuming that you haven't cracked the system open) at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. And then go from there.

If they can't help you, try a can of compressed air to clean out the console. It may be dust on the lens of the laser eye.

If that doesn't work, I would advise you to try and find someone locally that knows how to fix a 360. It's a gamble, but it's usually cheaper than what Microsoft charges for out of warranty console repairs.

I paid for this game on xbox 360 and now i can't play the full game on trial version

When you digitally purchase a game on the XBox 360, you get two licenses that allow you to play that game. One is tied to the Gamertag that was active when you purchased the game and the other is tied to the console you used to purchase the game (or the first console you downloaded the game to, if you purchased the game on the XBox.com website). If you are playing on an XBox 360 console that is different from the one on which you purchased the game and you are not logged in to the Gamertag which was used to purchase it, you will not be able to play the full version of the game -- only the trial.

How to setup Xbox Live

You will need some kind of internet connection so you will use either an Ethernet cord or a Wifi adapter. After you connect to the internet through your Xbox 360 you will have a 1 month free Xbox live trial. When the trial ends you will either use an Xbox live silver subscription which doesn't allow you to play games on-line, use Netflix, etc. Otherwise you would need to buy an Xbox live gold pass which is a better deal as you purchase a longer subscription. Thank you

My xbox 360 died and i bought a 2nd hand one. I purchased many arcade games from xbox live and they are saved on the memory pack. i have transfered this over and no it keeps telling me to unlock the games!...

You have to recover your gamertag for these arcade games to be played again, it's like an anti - piracy feature of the Xbox 360System not to allow data transfer wihtout prior notice. On your new Xbox 360 System:

• press the xbox guide button
• if your are signed in to your profile, you have to sign out first
• after signing out, press the Xbox guide button again and select recover gamertag
• on the next page, confirm on the prompt and follow the onscreen prompt to recover your gamertag

This should allow you to manage and play your downloaded Xbox Live Arcade Games.

My son saved money and bought a Xbox 360 Arcade. He did not realize that he could not play his xbox games on his new system. Is there an upgrade to allow old xbox games to be played on on the xbox 360

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.
Here is the link to the upgrade

If your xbox 360 has issues reading games, I would reccomend checking your warranty status and if possible sending it into microsoft for repair. You generally can repair it yourself by purchasing a replacement DVD drive, but it voids your warranty, and can also be a huge hassle(because you have to flash the drives firmware). Its generally worth paying a little bit extra to have microsoft do it for you.

Installing new "used" 20 MB Hard drive

there are only a few games for the 360 that require a hard drive in the first place (but without one you wont be able to save your game).
if you have one, the only possibility i can think of is maybe the hard drive is full, in which case you just need to delete a few things off of it. most games dont need very much space.

note: I'm not sure what you mean by new games and regular games. so if this doesn't help, make another post clarifying and ill see what i can do.

360 drive only reads dvds, not xbox 360 games, just says put in an xbox 360 console.

You need to flash the drive with the old drive's key; otherwise the your xbox motherboard will not allow that drive to access the gameplay engine and will not allow you to play games.

Saving a game requires you to have a Hard drive or memory card did you purchase the premium edition xbox 360? you can look on the outside of the xbox 360 box it will give the specs and what came with the system. If the hard drive is not on the list then you will need to buy one the xbox doesn't come with any internal memory like the systems in the past have. you will need to purchase a HD or a memory card. If you have the premium edition let me know ill instruct on how to set it up.

Xbox 360

First thing first did you purchase the xbox 360s with or without hard drives. They sell xbox360s without hard drives and there cheaper by about 100$ the price of the hard drives Look on the top of the 360 there should be an item that looks like this
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/viewer.aspx?productId=989&assetTypeId=1&shotId=0

This is what the system should look like. if you have this then you need to create a name for the HD if you dont you need to purchase one. let me know either way.
