1st try to check if the driver of your sound card is properly  installed in your operating system, if youre using windows it will be on the device manager 2nd if it is installed or its not showing then 90% would be a hardware problem on your sound card or the jack itself

Motorola BPR 40 will transmit, but not receive through the microphone. Works fine as a handheld

You may have one of three problems: Your audio accessory jack is bad, you are using the wrong mic for the radio, or your mic is bad. Try the mic on a known good BPR40 and if it test good, if so, your BPR40 with the problem needs a new audio accessory jack. (Repair is available for this model.) We have found the BPR40 will only work properly with the remote speaker mic designed for it, despite some other Motorola mics appearing to fit the jack. Construction grade mic PMMN4013 is a good option, as is the lightweight PMMN4077.

Can i work this mic with my computer?

Yes. You should be able to plug it in it your microphone jack. First, find the mic jack. it should be located right next to the headphone jack. Open your sound dialog. You can find it by right-clicking the volume control and selecting recording devices. Look for your microphone in the dialog. It should have a green tick on it. If it doesn't, select it and click "Set Default". (note: your microphone may not show as a separate entity. if not, select your default microphone and test it by speaking into the MV29. The level should change)somervta.jpg

Turtle Beach X3 Microphone issue

It sounds like the plug and the jack are incompatible.

Check to see that both are what's called TRS connections, i.e., Tip/Ring/Sleeve.

TRS plugs & jacks provide two separate circuits (in this case, one for mic, one for phones).

TRS jacks/plugs are also called "stereo jacks".

Computer Does Not Detect Headset Microphone

Sound and Recording jacks stop working on the DV6000 series due to the ribbon cable running under the power button. when the power button is pushed it bends the flex cable and over time it breaks the connection rendering the front jacks useless you can buy a new upper button panel for about 20 dollars on ebay

I can not use my computer microphone for live talk my computer acer aspire 5570z, other person to whom I talk can not hear my voice

Make sure the microphone jack plugged into the right jack socket
and that the microphone is plugged into the socket at the front of the pc.

In WinXP go to Control Panel\Sounds and Audio\Voice\Test hardware, this will test your mic by recording from it and playing it back.

If you are using a sound card go through the software setting.

Line Recording with H5500

i think that audio jack is for headphone-microphone combined (those cable plugs have a three black lines , top for left audio, center for right audio, last line for microphone) so you can use a headphones with mic directly with this 5500. the mic is i said before is the last line. what you need is a monophone plug. (mono mic) i dont think stereo mic will work.
