The unit plugs into the wall. that is the way that it gets power. If you are not getting power out of the transformer then you should replace it.

I suspect Best Buy will most likely replace the monitor's entire power circuit. It's possible that you shorted out a fuse, the input transformer, or some other component in the monitor's power supply. The only way to tell for sure is to disassemble the monitor and check the circuitry visually and with a meter. This job is best left to a qualified technician.
