Hi,
The part you are looking for is with the Part Number 378771-01 in HP Part Store and the price is not available since this part is not available with HP.
Description of this part is : PC board assembly - Indicator LEDs, volume control buttons and mute switch.
However, I found that this part is available for sale through the links provided below :
http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/HP,Laptop,Part,378771001.aspx

http://www.notebookparts.com/products/description.php?II=11440

I found that most of the websites are showing that this part is out of stock.
Hope this is helpful...

What type of laptop HP , ASUS , COMPAQ , ACER ?..........
Up the Volume on My HP Laptop
Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Locate and open the icon that deals with sound.
Depending on your version of Windows, it will say either "Sounds and Audio Devices" or "Adjust System Volume."
Adjust the volume under the "Speakers" icon.
To do this, click on the slider bar and move it up on the slider.
If you need to decrease the volume, simply move the slider bar down.
Click on "OK" when finished and close the "Control Panel" window.
Click on the speaker icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen for a faster volume adjustment. Simply move the slider bar up to increase the volume and move it back down to decrease the volume.

Volume on an Acer Laptop
Acer laptops are typically sold with pre-installed Windows operating systems that offer sound-adjustment features for increasing the volume on the laptop's built-in stereo speakers.
These same functions can also be used in tandem with external speakers or headphones to increase the volume, as well as mute all sound on the laptop.
If the computer should output an unusually low volume, fixing the problem may be no more involved than sliding a control switch with the computer mouse. Click once on the speaker icon in the taskbar on the lower-right corner to open a rectangular window with a slide control.
Click and hold the left mouse button on the slide control to drag it upward, increasing the volume to the laptop's maximum setting.
Click the "Mixer" button below the slider control to open another window with volume controls for "Speakers" and "Applications," adjusting each slide control upward to increase the volume.
Be sure the speaker icon below each control is not accidentally muted.
Click once on each speaker icon to remove the red circle with a slash through it, which will restore audio.
Click the Microsoft flag or "Start" button in the lower-left corner if the shortcut speaker icon is missing from the taskbar.
Click "Control Panel" to select "Adjust Sounds" from the Hardware and Sounds category.

CAN I INCREASE MY VOLUME IN MY LAPTOP

Laptop computers have limited volume capacity due to the small size of speakers, depending on your make and model you may have more or less than the average computer. To get more performance you will need to add multimedia speakers designed for laptops and desktops.

Advent t9307 power switch not working

Your laptop's power button sits directly on top of a device called a power button board. This is a small circuit board where all power and control buttons interface with your laptop's motherboard. The repetitive use of the power and control buttons can damage the power button board. Repairing your power button means removing and replacing the power button board, which requires partial disassembly of your laptop.

1.Power down your laptop. Unplug the AC power adapter and all external devices from the computer. Close the laptop's LCD panel and place the laptop face down. Rotate the laptop so the front opening edge is facing you. Remove the battery pack from its compartment on the laptop's bottom side.

2.Flip the laptop over, and pull open the display panel as far as possible. Use a thin, flat-head screwdriver to pry the keyboard cover from the laptop. The keyboard cover is the plastic piece situated above the keyboard assembly that houses the power button board.

3.Lift the keyboard cover out of the laptop slightly, and disconnect the cables extending from the power button board to the motherboard. Remove the keyboard cover from the laptop.

4.Place the keyboard cover face down on a flat surface. Remove the Phillips-head screws fastening the power button board to the cover, and remove it. If your speakers are situated inside the keyboard cover, disconnect the speaker cables from the power button board before removing it.

5.Place the new power button board inside the keyboard cover. Align the screw holes on the button board with the holes on the keyboard cover. Replace the Phillips-head screws fastening the button board to the keyboard cover. Reconnect the speaker cables to the button board, if necessary.

6.Reconnect the power button board's main cable to the motherboard. Place the keyboard cover back inside the slot above the keyboard assembly. Press down on the cover until it snaps into place. Replace the battery pack and reconnect all cables.

The volume on my laptop is poor. I have been into the control Panel but cannot find a way on how to increase the volume. Regards Steven.

There should be a small speaker icon in the notification area (aka system tray). Clicking on the icon will being up a volume control that you can use to adjust the sound volume. If the icon is not there, it may have been hidden automatically, so you may need to click on the small left arrow button to show all icons in the notification area to find the speaker. If it still is not there, go to Control Panel -> Sounds. On the Playback tab, select your output device and click on Properties. On the Levels tab, you can adjust sound levels.

follow the below checklist :

Check1 : Is power for speakers on

Check2 : Are speakers connected correctly to laptop (fixcables)

Check3 : nothing on volume control is muted

Check 4 : try to check with other pc or laptop if speakers are working.

If speakers are working with other computer , then all you need to do is instal audio drivers from mother board CD which you get from hardware manufacturer....

If the speaker is not working with other PC

check 5: if all the wires are in good condtion

If yes.. then contact hardware manufacturer

If no.... fix wires correctly ......

Hope this anwwers your problem.... thanks..Robosoft.

Replacing zd8000 keyboard

No, its easy to do it yourself. You should not have too much of an issue. I would stick to a factory keyboard to avoid any incompatibility issues.
