Radio keeps turning off

I m using the Nextel 7100i Receiving and dialed calls are dropped after 20 seconds, the radio will will turn off. I have to remove the battery in order to turn the radio back on. I receive and send emails just fine. Unless the radio turns off.

What's the problem?

I'm having the same problem. It only started a little over a week ago. Took my phone to nextel and got a new one....and it's still doing the same thing! What's up? It's driving me crazy!

I too have the same problem. The "Radio" just turns off after talking 10-20 seconds. Taking the battery out to reset does not help. Curses, nothing like every call being a dropped call, and I am missing important emails too.

Same thing. The radio stays on for 30 seconds or as long as the manage connections screen stays up. Sprint has no clue. I have no clue. Tried rebooting. Tried reprogramming with the tech guy from Sprint. Tried checking the auto on/off thing. Nothing working. Any fix?

I had this problem last year ... very annoying to say the least.
It turned out to be my battery, it's was saying charged but was not.
I know it sounds far fetched but try switching with someone elses battery, or grab a new one in the store to try for a minute. You may also be able to try using your phone while it is plugged in. If the battery is not too far gone this will work to prove the battery is the issue.
It worked for me and I have heard of others having the same success by switching batteries. The girl that figured this out for me told me these batteries are not meant to be charge for long periods of time, and that plugging the phone in as you go to bed is what was harming mine. This I can't back up, but she was on the money with my other problem so she may be right?

Good luck

I have/had the same problem. Started after I installed desktop manager 4.7. Can't say for sure if thats the problem but that's when it started. I uninstalled DM 4.7 yesterday so time will tell. Because mine is random but usually turns off after a few days.

I think DM is relevent because I charge my phone through the USB on the computer.

Go to the setting and check whether your settings allow the phone to automatically turn the radio off(Auto on/off). if it is set to on the disable it.

Plantronics 330 bluetooth headset / Nextel Blackberry 7100i performance

After looking through the phones, there many possibilities, wow quite a few. It does not have any recommendations on headsets. The headset is only as good as the the quality you are purchasing. If your phone drops calls it won't be from the bluetooth device. Below is a link to the Explorer Series 300 User's Guide, which may help you.
