27GT722 Blows Fuse

Found FET in power supply shorted. Cannot make out part number on it. What is it. Can see DO6044 and Morocco on it and P9N, rest is unreadable. It has evidence of burning. What is replacement?

The Transistor is Q14101. Sorry that I neglected to put that down. It is a FET I think, in the switching power supply section. Thank you, Dan. I am unable to find a diagram for this TV.

There should be a part designation written on the board under that part. FOr example Qxxx or Dxxx. Can you post that here please? I can cross reference that designation using the model number to get you the part number, cost and description.

Sat went out lost power. can not get tv to turn on. checked outlet (fine) sat powered up. no tv power.

When this happened it probably took out Q406 a switching field effect transistor on the power supply board along with F401 an 8 amp Slow Blow fuse. The FET will have to be soldered in if it is bad. If the fuse is blackened, it is almost certain that the FET is shorted as well.

you have blown the actual filters that make the sound. a amp is basically a filter with the same filters on both channels on each side of the inside of the amp - channel 1 and channel 2, that pop was in the heat sinks of the amp usually. if you have replaced the fuse in this amp and you get no on light, the internal amp is in need of repair

Model TDC2075A Sansui Had lightning storm, lost power no close lightning strike. TV will not power up, don't know if it has internal protection or is power supply went out

you mite try replacing the ac fuse 1 time-if it blows again there is a short in the power supply-i would then check rectifiers in the primary of the power supply-then check the fet-if any of them are shorted replace them

TV won't turn onthe red light just blinks when I push the power button.

I think this might be bad/swollen capacitors, or something odd in the +5VDC circuits of the power supply, but I am posting all of the things I have found so far with these TVs.

Here are few possible solutions:

If you have no red light and you have a Megmeet MLT386 power supply, check these parts:

1) Swollen caps on the secondary circuit (may cause the red light blink problem).
2) Blown fuse F1 (5A/250V) this is caused by a shorted FET at QA1 (20N60), you may also find that SMT cap CX23 is burned up (.001uf) which is in parallel with diode DA2 which may be damaged/shorted, replace these components.

If the power LED goes from red to green when powered up but no picture, then it might be lost +24VDC from the power supply:

3)Check fuse F2 (3.15A/250V, I put a 5A in), if it is blown, replace FET at QA2A (9N50C), replace QA2 as well (9N50C). Check SMT resistors at R233,R234,R235,R236 (.47 ohm). If open, replace with .1 ohm 1W or 2W resistor (easier to source). Also replace SMT transistor QF1 (2X4 or 2N4401 NPN transistor). And replace diodes at DS2 and DS1 (HER207), DS2 was shorted, DS1 was ok but I replaced it anyway.

I dont know as much about the Megmeet MLT169A, but it has similar problems and similar components.

4) I had to replace all of the capacitors in the secondary circuit (there are six in a 3x3 row marked EC9 (1000uf35V),EC10(1000uf35V),EC14(470uf35V) and EC18,EC19,EC20 (all 1000uf35V).

Will not turn on, only blinking green light

Ok, your on the right track... Check the main fet or fets that is located right by the caps. Normally if the fet is short, it will pop the fuse, but if your caps poped instead, it could have prevented this. With the set unplugged, you can take a meter set to ohms (lowest setting possible) and if you read a value across any of the 3 pins on the fet (short), then it shot.. If that checks out ok, then take a peek at all the other smaller caps that are on the hot side of the board (the bottom of the board will be labled hot and cold. If one of these was out, it would prevent any of the other voltages from being present. The 5v is a standard test signal, it will normally notify the rest of board to power up when there is a draw on it (kind of like a computer power supply). But I highly recommend replacing all the caps on the hot side of the board and it should fix your problems.

Instantly blows the 5 amp fuse next to the power cord plug.

You have a short in the power supply. Look at the regulator and or rectifier diodes. These are all on th primary side of the SMPS (switched mode power supply) the secondary side if shorted shouldn't cause a blown fuse at all.
