Hello there and welcome to fixya
oko well to tell you the truth the cleaning cycle is the hardest cycle for the oven due to the extreem heat during the clean cycle.
Any way the way to unlock the door is as follows
unplug the oven for at least 1 hour then after the hour is over plug it back in and then you may hear a beep if so simply press the cancel button and then unlock the oven door as you would normally do now you may even have to wait for 5 min once you plug it back in but normally it works right away
Now if this doesent work than you may have a faulty controle board this is very common because of the extreem heat and some of the board parts cant take the heat whirlpool is still trying to fix this issue this has been a problem for some time ok?
any way i hope this helps please keep me posted on how this is going
Best regards Mike

I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven. I tried to use the Auto Clean function tonight, but after about 15 secs., the oven displayed error code FSE1, beeped multiple times, and then...

I researched your question regarding error code FSE1. I could not find a response regarding a self cleaning oven. If you will provide the model number on the below listed website under "cooking" you may get a detailed response.

It seems that a general "fix" for error codes is to got to your electrical panel and shut off the breaker controlling your device for 1 minute. This resets the device and will reset the error code. (May not fix your issue but will reset code.)

Your manual should have a list of error codes to help you resolve this issue. If you have misplaced the manual, you can also download one for your device from Whirlpool's website as well.

If all else fails here are the U.S. and Canadian telephone numbers under "Contact us". I do not know if this is a pay line or Whirlpool will answer your questions and attempt to resolve at no cost.

After self cleaning cycle, oven door will not open. the lever won't move.

in the rear of the stove there might be a wax motor that has melted not allowing the stove to be unlocked. or a stuck switch.
all too common with self clean ranges.
unplug stove, remove rear panel and begon looking for any type of heat damage, or any switches that may have been stuck closed.
i see this at least once per week

Your thermal fuse or TOD mounted to the back of the oven went out during the self clean,it shuts off the power to the elements.
The oven must be removed from the wall to change this.

I am in the process of cleaning my Whirlpool self cleaning oven and it seems like there should be about 2 hours left on the timer and when I came out to the kitchen the timer was off and the door is still...

most likely the safety latch got stuck from the super heat of the oven while cleaning. try tapping the latch with a screwdriver and hammer, spray a bit of wd-40 on it wont hurt. i believe the self cleaning on ovens is crazy, as the heat damages things, including the finish of the unit.

Frigidare Self Clean Oven

I JUST CALLED FRIGIDAIRE AND GOT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF CLEANING:

1. TAKE OUT THE RACKS UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND THEM TARNISHING
2. TURN THE "SELECTOR" AND/OR "OVEN" DIALS TO THE LOCK (OR CLEAN) POSITION
3. PRESS THE "COOK TIME" BUTTON
4. SET THE CLOCK TO 2 OR 3 HOURS (I.E., "2:00" OR "3:00"), DEPENDING ON HOW DIRTY THE OVEN IS
5. PRESS "START" BUTTON
6. YOU WILL HEAR THE MOTORIZED LOCK MOVE INTO PLACE; WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THE DOOR SHOULD BE LOCKED AND CLEANING WILL BEGIN.
7. CLEANING WILL STOP AFTER THE TIME SELECTED (I.E., 2 / 3 HRS) AND THE DOOR SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK
