I am having difficulty removing the plastic square panels under the chassis. Can I just use pliers and rip them out?

Thank you very much for your response particleaudi. I didn't have to remove those square-panels from under the PCB.

I was able to remove the board and replace the ICs soon after I posted this question. The TV is working fine. I am all happy :) I din't know I had it in me LOL

Thanks for your response though. I really appreciate it.

Hi,
This is problem of convergence output chips failure and it is fixable.
Replacement of convergence output chips on D board will solve tv problem, local tv repairman will do this job because convergence output chips replacement requires soldering work on circuit board.
Thanks.

My sony tv model # KP-46WT510 is showing a three D Picture with a red outline

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

How to remove red cables from "tower" on rear of board?

Don't!! the red cables are the high voltage and focus lines. damage to these will disable the set! However, the board can be removed far enough to facilitate repair without removing these cables. They are usually held in place by plastic loops. release both cable from each loop they go through pull free from chassis brackets. the smaller one goes to the focus block in the front of the set (behind the speaker grill)
