Question about Heartland 3525SS Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

Open Question

Heartland Metro 36" Range latch won't retract after self-clean

We have a newer model Heartland Range - the latch won't completely retract after self-clean mode. I think there is a very simple solution to this, but I haven't hit upon it yet. We've unhooked it from the power source and turned it back on and set the clock, but it still remains partially extended.
We've turned it on self-clean and waited 10 or so minutes and pressed the "X" button to turn it off, but it still only partially retracts. The door will close, but still has us uneasy. Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

You are right it is the door latch that is bad and needs replacement, there is no other switch or solenoid. The only other thing that I'll recommend you to check before replacing is the electronic control board though that seems to be fine. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

How to self clean hotpoint gas range model number rgb740beh3ct

Hello,

To self clean that oven REMOVE THE RACKS, slide the door latch from the right to the left, push the self clean button, push the up/down arrows to set the clean time (usual clean time is 4 hours 30 minutes) push start

After the clean is over it may take a additional hour before the door will open if the latch doesn't move back easily to the the right once self clean clean is done do not force it just wait more time

When trying to use either upper or lower oven, panel flashing "Control Locked." Won't work.

Try this:

2. Currentoptionwillappearin thedisplay.

3. PresstheAUTOSETpadtochangethe

option.

4. PressCANCELpadtosetthe displayed
optionandexittheprogram

The LOCK is option 4 change the OPTION from 4 to 9.
9 is the factory default settings.

This should work. However.... there is the possibility that the unit had performed a self clean function. If you just completed a self clean cycle it can but up to 1 hour AFTER the cycle before you can open the door or use the oven as the range must cool down and cycle a thermostat before it wil work again.

There is also the possibility that the door lock has not completely retracted. If you can get it to start a self clean cycle.... after 1 minute press cancel and the lock should retract. (I know you said won't do anything) I am hoping that after you reset the options from 4 to 9 that you might be able to do this.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL MODEL NUMBER RF368LXKQ RANGE AND WHEN I TRY THE SELF CLEAN BUTTON I GET F5E1 WHAT IS THE PROBLEM

Hello,

The F5E1 error codes means that the door light switch OR a switch on the self clean latch has failed. If the oven light comes on and goes off when the door is opened and closed it most likely going to be a switch on the latch thats the problem.

The part numbers are;

DOOR LATCH W10107830

LIGHT SWITCH 3195993

I have a 36" heartland range and the oven does not work. A few times I have reset the breaker and then it works, although now even that does not work. The gas top works fine ande the digital display unit...

If you had to keep resetting the breaker that means the electric element was shorting, arcing and therefor drawing too much amperage. The reseting of the breaker kept allowing it to spark start. The high voltage would occasionally create its own bridge from the heat expansion to make a connection and work. But the use of the unit under these conditions kept destroying the heating element even more. A few things need to be checked now. The heating coil, and the high voltage wires inside and out. There is no telling where the damage may have traveled now. Hopefully it only killed the heating coil.

The cooling fan stays engaged after a cleaning cycle. How can it be turned off as it has been running for 2 days now.

The problem is the oven door latch. Open the oven door and you'll see the latch on the left front. When it's to the right, the readout will read "SC" for self cleaning. When pushed back left, the fan stops. Apparently the latch does not return to the off position after SC. Snap it back a few times and it may stay off. If not, you'll have to fix it.

The door lock for self cleaning is in the lock position with the door open. i tryed to cancel it but would not. an F3 message came up when i pushed clean. is there a way to reset the system.

Unplug the unit or flip the breaker switch (easier). After about 30 seconds, the latch will retract, allowing the door to close. Re-start the self-cleaning process.

Problem codes for self-cleaning ranges

My experience (Kenmore Ultra-bake Model 665-72002102) was that E1 F5 meant an error with the oven lock switch. In our case, the latch was partly stuck from food or other debris. Just moving the latch back and forth loosened the scale that was making it stick, and it worked again.
